When it comes to chores, ironing is one of the most dreaded household jobs. People are generally divided into two camps - those that iron and those that absolutely do not. And there is good news for those in the latter.

One mum has revealed a clever hack that means she never needs to get the ironing board out - and it costs less than £2.50.

Fans have revealed they use it on all their laundry, from clothes right through to their duvet covers. And you're going to want to give it a go.

Writing on the Mrs Hinch Facebook group, one follower asked the group for any tips on how to put duvet covers on without ironing them and how to get them crease-free.

The response was resounding. "Lenor crease release. I haven't ironed in about three years," one person enthused. And she wasn't the only one.

"Crease release spray. Don't bother ironing duvet covers, life is too short," said a second, while a third agreed: "Lenor crease release. I clean holiday lets. If they are really creased I will put them on beds first and then iron them or use a handheld steamer."

Someone else posted: "I think it's amazing. I just spray then use the flat of my hand to pull creases out."

There are a number of different crease release sprays available to be bought online or from local supermarkets. You can pick up the Lenor version, in either Spring Awakening or Exotic Bloom, from Wilko or The Range for just £2.49.

It comes after a travel expert revealed why you shouldn't use the iron in your hotel room - and the reason is eye-opening.

Gilbert Ott is a frequent flyer and founder of the travel site God Save The Points . He advises rolling your clothes rather than folding them when you are packing to reduce creases and as a way to save space.

But if they are creased? "It's worth inspecting the hotel iron, or testing it on a non-external-facing garment before trusting your soon-to-be crisp white shirt," he told the Mail . "Why? Pilots and others notoriously use irons to reheat pizza and other food during layovers."

So, if you're not keen on tainting your favourite blouse in marinara sauce, Ott recommends making use of your steamy shower to iron out the creases on your outfit. Simply place the item of clothing on the towel rack or behind the bathroom door and let the heat do its work.
