This Morning presenter Josie Gibson has broken her silence regarding her future on the ITV show following speculation she was set to quit.

The 38-year old boosted her profile following a successful stint in the I'm A Celebrity jungle in December, and she has since gone on to land a role on Dancing On Ice. Earlier this week the Bristolian set tongues wagging after sharing a "last day" message with her fans prompting fears she wouldn't be returning to the daytime show.

On Wednesday she penned on Instagram: "My last day with @dermotoleary tomorrow before @alisonhammond55 returns Friday. Then @sianwelby takes the @thismorning reins next week. What an amazing group of ladies to share the sofa with!!!!! @dermotoleary thank you for being my rock this week."

However, Josie appeared to put the rumours to bed on Sunday morning as she returned to the platform to reassure her 698,000 followers. "Alreeet lovers," she began. "Just to confirm, I have not left @thismorning I keep getting asked why I've left, so I thought it's easier to clear up the rumour mill on here."

She continued: "I am eternally grateful for all your love and support and I can not thank you enough. JG #squashingrumours." Fans were clearly delighted by the news, with one Instagram user responding: "Thank god Josie that you are not leaving this morning. I absolutely love you on This Morning @josiegibson85. Sending lots of love Xxx."

Another commented: "So glad your not leaving I’m a true Bristolian like yourself and love watching you on This morning, you always ask question we want to hear and are so compassionate plus you make us a laugh too." A third declared: "They're lucky to have you giving a realistic perspective on life." And a fourth agreed: "You’re doing an amazing job as always Josie and I appreciate what you do."

Josie made her Dancing On Ice debut to present a competition segment last Sunday as she glided onto the rink on a sleigh. The former Big Brother winner appeared thrilled to be on the ice, as Holly told her: "It's so lovely to see you, how are you?" Josie replied: "It is so lovely to see you, Holly and Stephen [Mulhern], and thank you for having me. What an entrance. I feel like all my Christmases have come at once."

After the show, Josie took to her Instagram where she gushed about Holly and the programme. She wrote: "What an honour.....Thank you for having me @dancingonice and giving me my own sleigh with these two heroes. The show was incredible!!! It was beautiful to have the one and only @hollywilloughby back on our screens where she belongs, alongside the legend that is @stephenmulhern the competition is so fierce this year!!!"
