L’HOMME PRESSE (3.00) should make a winning return to action in the Fitzdares Fleur De Lys Chase at Lingfield Park on Sunday.

Venetia Williams’ stable star makes his comeback 391 days after unseating Charlie Deutsch at the final fence when booked for second place in the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park in December 2022.

The Cheltenham Gold Cup hope will inevitably come on for the run but L’Homme Presse, the best horse in the race on official figures, receives 4lb from market rival Protektorat – and that should make all the difference.

Jonjo O’Neill has his Jackdaws Castle team at the top of their game for the second half of the jumps season and REGAL BLUE is expected to thrive for tackling three iles and five furlongs for the Fitzdares Surrey National Handicap Chase (3.35).

After a costly final-fence fall at Ascot in November, SAINT SEGAL is the choice for compensation in the Download The Racing App Now Godstone Handicap Chase (1.50), while another good account is on the cards from the prolific CLASSIC CONCORDE in the Weatherbys Hamilton Handicap Hurdle (2.25).
