Tiger Woods could be poised to announce Taylormade as his new clothing partner, after the 15-time major champion parted ways with Nike Golf earlier this month.

On Friday it was first revealed by @LIVGolfUpdates that Taylormade Lifestyle Ventures LLC had filed for the trademark 'Sunday Red', the colour famously worn by Woods when competing in the final round of an event. The report also revealed the logo of the clothing line which included a Tiger.

Woods has already formed a partnership with Taylormade, having had the brand's clubs in his bag for the last six years after joining forces back in 2017 following Nike's decision to stop producing equipment.

The 15-time major champion has also featured heavily in Taylormade's new Qi10 driver promotion in recent weeks. It comes after the American announced he would no longer be donning the iconic Nike swoosh on his chest and cap after 27 years with the brand.

Woods became one of Nike's most recognisable athletes and was said to have made almost £400 million in sponsorship earnings. His latest deal was signed back in 2013, before the 10-year agreement expired at the end of last year.

The five-time Masters winner announced the split on social media in a heartfelt statement. "Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world," Woods wrote on X. "The days since have been filled with so many amazing.

"[Former Nike CEO] Phil Knight's passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way.

"People will ask if there is another chapter. Yes, there will certainly be another chapter. See you in LA! Tiger." Whilst there has been no official announcement on the 48-year-old's 'next chapter', this week's Sunday Red trademark appears to point in the direction of Taylormade apparel.

Woods' first appearance without Nike will come next month, after the PGA Tour announced the 82-time winner's first event of 2024 will be at February's Genesis Invitational. The event at Riviera makes perfect sense for Woods, with the American also the tournament's host.

The event was one of Woods' three PGA Tour outings in 2023, a season that was severely reduced to an ankle injury sustained at last year's Masters. After eight months out, he finished the year at last month's Hero World Challenge, another tournament where he takes on hosting duties.

Having made his comeback , he outlined his plan to play on event a month this year, starting in February. Speaking in December on the back of his return, Woods said: " I think that the best scenario would be maybe a tournament a month.

"Again, we have it set up right now the biggest events are one per month. It sets itself up for that. Now, I need to get myself ready for all that. I think this week is a big step in that direction.” Having taken a break throughout January Woods is now poised to return to competition in less than four weeks.
