The last episode of Friends aired almost 20 years ago, but its legacy never wanes.

Many fans regularly turn back to the acclaimed show for a sense of sweet nostalgia and comfort. It featured a slew of A-list cameos including Brad Pitt and Reese Witherspoon, and graced our screens with two of the most iconic love stories there ever was.

Throughout the 10 seasons, writers played cat and mouse with viewers on whether Ross (David Lawrence Schwimmer) would ever end up with his childhood crush Rachel (Jennifer Aniston). Their rocky relationship ended and re-started several times, after Rachel found out Ross had cheated on her (WE WE'RE ON A BREAK!).

But, a huge plot twist revealed itself at the end of season four when Chandler (Matthew Perry, who sadly passed away on October 28, 2023) ended up having a drunken one-night stand with Monica (Courtney Cox). The fling blossomed into something much more serious, and the characters went on to live together and get married. It was a relationship nobody saw coming - too distracted by Ross' failed attempts to get Rachel back.

In the last episode of the show, Monica and Chandler bring home their newly-adopted twin babies, while Rachel gets off *that* plane and ditches her fancy Paris job to be with Ross for good. It was the happy ending viewers had hoped for, and made for an even more emotional finale. However, eagle eyed viewers who have been binging the series have noticed a subtle hint that these couples were always destined to be.

Most of us will remember 'The One with the Football' - a series three episode that aired back in 1996. The gang ditch their Thanksgiving dinner to play a game of American footy.

Stakes were high - as the winner was able to take home the legendary Geller Cup. The scene ends with siblings Ross and Monica laid on the pitch, refusing to accept the other won while the others headed home.

But whilst the game is in its early stages, viewers noticed that Rachel was wearing a Nike hat - which featured the same tick logo as Ross' jumper. Similarly, Monica had donned a sweater with the logo 'Giants' emblazoned across the chest, which was also stitched onto the back of Chandler's cap.

Taking to X (formely Twitter) one user named Stefan posted the coincidental fact back in 2021 - asking his followers "Can you understand what I'm trying to say?" One person replied: "That their costumes are signalling that they will fall in love with each other?" Another user wrote: "They are soulmates." While a third added: "I never noticed."
