Paul Gorton has been banished from the Traitors, with his teammate Harry Clark having been among those who voted for him at the round table in tonight's episode.

The latest episode saw Paul, 36, banished from the BBC show. He had been an original Traitor alongside Harry, 22, and the pair had previously contributed to the banishments of their former teammates Ash Bibi, 45, and Miles Asteri, 36.

The tables turned on Paul in Thursday's episode, with former ally Harry among those who voted for him. The latter felt that Paul had "turned on him" after hearing that he was part of a discussion about Harry following the mission.

Paul said in a confessional after being named by Harry as a suspect at the round table: "He really went for me. He has his eyes wide open with his role as a Traitor." Following his departure, he said: "I think even little Harry's learnt a bit from the way that I was playing it because the way he took me down in that moment then was just perfect, so I fall on my own sword."

Fans reacted to Paul's banishment on X, formerly known as Twitter. One person wrote: "I'll sleep well tonight now Paul's gone!" Another said: "Omg thank god for that!! See ya, Paul!" A third said: "So glad they got Paul." Another viewer tweeted: "Been waiting weeks for that moment ... Glad Paul is out."

Others took the opportunity to praise Paul, with one fan writing: "No traitor has committed to their role like Paul. A villain of the highest standard. Take a bow." Another said: "Paul was a legendary #TheTraitors contestant. Bravo, sir." Someone else wrote: "The absolute king! What an utterly fantastic player from start to finish!"

There had been continued suspicion on Paul from some of the group, including Jaz Singh, 30, and Evie Morrison, 29. Mollie Pearce, 21, also teased that she remained suspicious of the business manager following Miles' banishment.

Zack Davies, 27, also aired his suspicions, whilst Charlotte Chilton, 32, questioned at the round table whether it was a "no smoke without fire situation". Some people voted named Jaz, with his voting record at the round table cited as suspicious, though Paul ended up with the most votes.

Harry seemed to previously prepare for the possibility of banishing Paul, including the previous day, after the latter went against Miles at the round table. Harry suggested that they were both Traitors to pal Zack during his teammates' exchange. He asked Zack: "Do you reckon there's two Traitors going at each other?" Zack agreed. Harry seemed to later bring up the idea in front of Jasmine Boatswain, 26, too.

Paul's departure came after Andrew Jenkins, 45, had been recruited by him and Harry. They had the opportunity to invite someone to join them or 'murder' another Faithful. The pair chose to invite Andrew to become a Traitor.

Wednesday night's episode confirmed that Diane Carson, 63, had been 'murdered' after she'd been given a 'poison chalice' by Miles. Suspicion fell on Miles during the episode and he was subsequently banished at the next round table.

Ahead of her departure - which has been described as "iconic" by some fans - Diane shared with Paul that Miles had encouraged her to swap drinks with him. He later brought that up at the round table and voted for Miles.

Although some people felt that Paul correctly identifying Miles as a Traitor was evidence of his own innocence, not everyone was convinced. Suspicion grew during Thursday's episode, leading to him ultimately being banished.

Following Paul's departure, it was revealed that Harry and Andrew would have the choice to either recruit someone else to join them or 'murder' a Faithful. The pair decided together that they wanted to reduce the Faithfuls numbers. They named Zack and Charlie Bees as their two options for 'murder'.

The Traitors is on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. You can catch up through BBC iPlayer. The first series and the debut series of theTraitors US are also available to stream.
