Ferne McCann says she and her fiancé are sleeping in separate beds following the arrival of baby Finty last July - and it's not the only thing that's changed.

She says that's the only way they can get a good night's sleep with the little one still not going through the night. Ferne, 33, admits sex has seriously suffered as a consequence but it's a small price to pay for some proper shut-eye. Being intimate with each other has understandably fallen slightly by the wayside since last summer with Finty not a great sleeper.

Finty’s dad Lorri Haines is happy to sleep around the house and speaking about their snoozing set-up, Ferne says she is getting used to having the whole bed to herself and doesn't exactly dislike it. She's been telling OK! Magazine all about the the first six months of motherhood - and the sacrifices being made.

On having separate beds, the mum-of-two explained: “I honestly love it. There are times where I can be quite needy and be like, ‘You don’t love me any more, I need you in the bed.’ But I much prefer it and I don’t know when we’re going to go back to sleeping in the same bed! The last few nights we’ve been watching Beef on Netflix in bed and having really nice chats and he goes off into his bed. It’s honestly perfect.”

This bed-hopping disrupts their sex life, the reality star admits: “I’ll be completely honest with you, it’s not very often at the moment. When we first met, we were having sex five times a week, twice a day sometimes. It is not that at all. I think with the baby we’re focused on different things. We find the time when we need to. We both work from home during the days!"

Ferne and former estate agent Lorri, 32, launched their wellness app Shoorah last summer while she was heavily pregnant. They have kept their business going while tending to their little one and Ferne was answering emails days after giving birth! As well as adapting to having a partner in business, Ferne has had to get used to the idea of having someone by her side in parenting – not an easy task after years of life as a single mum to Sunday.

“It’s so nice when Finty does something that makes us both laugh and we’re both cooing over her. There’s no better feeling than sharing that with someone,” she says. “I think I’ve been quite open about single parenting – experiencing the best thing in the world and it’s by yourself. You look up and there’s no one to share that with and I found that really tough.

“It has been really special doing it with Lorri. But don’t get me wrong, I’m so programmed to doing it by myself, I feel like I’m a very independent mother. I’d go anywhere in the world with those two by myself. I was so used to that I had to learn to let Lorri in.”
