Prince Harry and Meghan Markle missed out on an Emmy Award at this year's ceremony after their Netflix documentary was snubbed last year.

The duo didn't attend the glamorous bash in Hollywood last year or indeed again on Monday after failing to make the cut for nominees. Despite the explosive series shooting to the top of the charts in 2023, with an huge 81.6billion hours watched the pair never received an accolade. The snub came as a shock to both them and fans everywhere as experts claimed they were "100% certain" they would after debuting one of the most talked-about shows of the year.

And such a snub is said to likely to have left them feeling "wounded" as they continue to find their next projects.

That is according to PR expert Lynn Carratt. She told us: "Meghan and Harry may feel slightly wounded by not receiving an Emmy Nomination, despite their Harry & Meghan docuseries becoming a record for the biggest debut for a Netflix documentary, reaching more than 28 million households, but they were up against some tough competition for nominations."

Continuing to discuss how it isn't the first snub for the Sussexes, Lynn added: "It’s also not the first time the couple have missed out on an Emmy Nomination. Their bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey was nominated in the Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special category, but not Harry and Meghan personally, but Oprah herself and the program's producers.

"Meghan herself is no stranger to missing out on Emmy nominations, she spent seven seasons in the TV show ‘Suits’ which never received any prestigious Emmy or Global Globe award nominations. She was submitted for nomination in 2018 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her last season starring as Rachel Zane in Suits, but she never made the cut."

Lynn explained how the awards would mean more to Meghan than her husband, explaining how it is likely to be one of her ambitions in life to receive such an accolade.

Lynn, from from Press Box PR, concluded she thinks the couple will now focus on trying to achieve producer award nominations thanks to productions such as their upcoming movie, Meet Me at the Lake.
