Tom Holland has revealed the sweet reason he and Zendaya watch their movie Spider-Man: Homecoming together.

The cute couple first met on the set of the Marvel blockbuster, with Tom playing Peter Parker and his web-slinging superhero alias, and Zendaya portraying Peter’s friend and love interest MJ. They went on to star alongside each other as they reprised their roles for Spider-Man: Far From Home, which was released in 2019, and 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home.

But Tom confessed it was the movie they fell in love while filming that has captured their hearts, and revealed he and Zendaya watch it occasionally to relive the early days of their relationship. “Zendaya and I will, every now and then, watch Spider-Man 1 and reminisce about being 19 and making those movies again,” he told Extra. The British actor said he tries not to watch them as often as he would like “because it’s so special”, and admitted it was “such a gift to be able to sit down and sort of relive your youth.”

He also joked Zendaya has watched his Apple TV+ miniseries, The Crowded Room “more times than I would have expected her to see it,” and admitted he watches his own TV and movie projects as he stated: “I sometimes think I am my best critic.” The couple rarely comment on their relationship, and his latest revelation about his romance with Zendaya comes after he revealed the one thing his girlfriend of almost eight years does better than anyone. “Zendaya is probably the most honest with me,” Tom told The Hollywood Reporter last month. “Which I love, 'cause you need that.”

During the Extra interview, Tom, who first shot to fame on the West End as a child in Billy Elliott the Musical, also thanked Marvel for taking a chance and casting him as the iconic superhero. “I wouldn’t be the man I am today without that job,” the 27-year-old added. The Impossible star landed the role of a lifetime in June 2015, and less than a year later, he made his debut as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, alongside Marvel icons Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson.

At the time, he was just 18, and was the youngest ever actor to play Spider-Man, as both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were 27 when they were cast as the web-slinging hero. Tom recently admitted he was “very protective” over Spider-Man, and last year, revealed they were tentative plans for a fourth movie in the franchise. "All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character,” he said during a press conference with the Critics Choice Association.
