Samsung is just two days away from unveiling its newest line of smartphones, the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra and while all eyes on on the brand for its looming new launch, Amazon's rival Google deal may be better for you. You can save more than £115 on the Pixel 8 Pro thanks to a last-minute price drop.

The Google Pixel 8 Pro was only launched in October last year, so its multi-hundred-pound saving makes it even better considering the set is only three months old. You can now get your hands on it for £884, compared to the £999 price.

A quick scan at rival retailers too, proves Amazon's price is the outright one to go with, rivals John Lewis and Very have launched recent price drops but their £949 price (a discount of only £50) is now where near as big as the Prime retailer's.

Making it one of the cheapest prices since the launch, a steal considering it's packed with a new Tensor G3 Chip, a 6.7-inch display, and AI features for happy-snappy photographers all high-end features some tech brands are yet to live up to. Amazon's new £884 price comes unlocked too, so you can pair it with any pay-monthly SIM.

One of the standout features of Google's Pixel 8 range, which includes the flagship Pixel 8 Pro device and the standard Pixel 8 model, was the seven years of confirmed updates. This means shoppers will be able to upgrade their flashy new handset with the latest software each year - a feature that'll stop you from wanting to upgrade.

It'll make your multi-hundred pound device feel better value for money, and those following the imminent launch of the Galaxy S24 range say it's a feature Samsung may take inspiration from. Highlighted by the team at Tech Radar and Android Headlines, the newest three models in the S24 range could get seven years of updates too.

It's a talked-about feature eager shoppers will have to wait until this Wednesday, January 17 to know for sure, as Samsung launch its handset from 6pm UK time. The global unveiling can be watched live from their site, here.
