Meg Ryan made a rare appearance at the 29th Annual Critics' Choice Awards, and showed fans she's still got it.

The 62-year-old looked gorgeous in a strapless black sequinned Saint Laurent gown, donning her signature short blonde bob and a simple makeup look. She smiled for cameras as she walked the red carpet at the prestigious event, before taking to the stage with David Duchovny.

The iconic actress, who appeared in films such as When Harry Met Sally and You've Got Mail, last appeared on the silver screen in her 2015 directorial debut Ithaca. She's revealed why she decided to step back from the spotlight as she admitted she wanted to focus on her family.

"I took a giant break because I felt like there's just so many other parts of my experience as a human being I wanted to develop," she said in a new interview. One of the main roles she wants to focus on is being a mother.

Meg shares actor son Jack Quaid with her ex-husband Dennis Quaid. The former couple tied the knot on February 14, 1991 but announced their separation in June 2000. Their divorce was finalised in July 2001. In January 2006, Meg adopted a 14-month-old girl from China, who she named Daisy True.

Speaking to People about her decision to stop back from acting, Meg explained: "It's nice to think of it as a job and not a lifestyle. And that is a great way of navigating it for me."

Meg's latest film What Happens Later is something she has directed, co-written and starred in. In the movie, which is scheduled to be released next month, the actress stars alongside Duchovny.

In a trailer for What Happens Later, Meg and David are seen playing a former couple who run into each other at an airport, where their respective flights get delayed. The trailer teases that they will delve into their break-up and open up about their feelings for each other.
