The Masked Singer fans are sure they've worked out the true identity of Rat.

Tonight, Rat took to the stage to perform another song but fans have been busy trying to rumble who the person is. They wear tartan and have a Scottish flag stitched onto their dungarees, could this mean that's where they hail from?

Taking to Twitter, some viewers are convinced they know who the person is after spotting a clue during tonight's show, which hinted that the person is connected to Coronation Street star Alan Halsall.

One wrote: "Rat is Claire sweeney….. Tyrone’s name in real life is Alan who’s plays her son on Corrie #MaskedSingerUK," whilst a second added: "Claire Sweeney as rat? #MaskedSingerUK." A third shared: "I think Rat is Claire Sweeney #MaskedSingerUK."

Rat can be seen carrying a tool belt - does that mean they like DIY or is it a connection with some sort of series which renovates homes? They also admitted they were feeling nervous ahead of the show, with the first clue them ever giving being: "The nerves I had for the Masked Singer are the worst nerves I've had in my entire life."

Guesses for Rat has so far included Ronnie Ancona, Claire Sweeney, Shirley Manson and Mel C but another celebrity has had their name thrown into the mix. Other things the person has said include: "There is no regret when I say what I say, because all I've achieved, I've given away," whilst they had also added: "people think rats are pests, but that's just pure garbage."

Could they have found fame early, given they said: "you could say I peaked too soon, but you've got to start early to win this rat race mate," whilst they also referenced keeping their "old mum happy".

In their first ever VT, one of their clues was: "What's in the pipeline for me you ask? Time is tick-tocking, and I'm on the clock, time to take the plunge," whilst they also featured a clock pointing towards quarter past three - but what could it mean?
