Prince Harry thought 'the ginger gene wouldn't stand up' in kids with Meghan
In the early stages of their relationship, Prince Harry fantasised about what his children with Meghan Markle would look like, although he's admitted he didn't expect them to be ginger.
The Duke of Sussex thought there was "no way" his genes would stand up against 41-year-old Meghan's.
"I actually really thought in the beginning of my relationship, should this go the distance and we have kids, there is no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife's genes," he told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show.
Harry and Meghan share two children together — three-year-old son Archie and daughter Lilibet, one — who both have red hair.
Harry joked: "I was wrong," before pumping his fist and cheering: "Go gingers!"

The Duke of Sussex thought his wife's genes would be stronger than his (WireImage)The 38-year-old also told the late-night host that his young children "definitely" take after his late mother Princess Diana.
He said: "The Spencer gene is very, very strong. The ginger gene is a strong one."
Harry and Meghan welcomed son Archie in May 2019 while they were living in England.
Their daughter Lilibet was born in June 2021 when the family had moved to California after stepping back from their royal duties.

Host Stephen asked: "If your mother were still alive, do you ever think about how she might handle this moment?"
Harry replied: "We wouldn't have got to this moment.
"It's impossible to say where we would be now, where those relationships would be now, but there is no way that the distance between my brother and I would be the same."

The book includes a string of damaging claims about various members of the royal family, including Harry's brother Prince William.

Harry claims that his sibling and heir to the throne physically attacked him in a row over Meghan Markle.
Elsewhere, he accused his stepmother Queen Consort Camilla of leaking stories to the press and turning his bedroom into her dressing room.
