HALO season 2 gets explosive, action-packed trailer that gives fans 'goosebumps'
Paramount+ has unveiled the final trailer for season two of HALO, and it’s left fans of the series with “goosebumps.” Based on the hugely successful video game franchise, the action-sci-fi dramatizes an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant.
It centres on the protagonist from the game series, Master Chief John-117 (Pablo Schreiber), a soldier who leads his team of elite Spartans against the Covenant. In the wake of a shocking event on a desolate planet, John cannot shake the feeling that his war is about to change and risks everything to prove what no one else will believe – that the Covenant is preparing to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold.
With the galaxy on the brink, John embarks on a journey to find the key to humankind’s salvation, or its extinction: the Halo. The live-action series weaves deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.

Led by showrunner and executive producer David Wiener, the series takes place in the universe that first debuted in 2001 with the launch of Xbox’s first HALO game. It stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, Spartan-117 and Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, who also both serve as producers this season.

Season two will premiere on February 8 with a two-episode drop exclusively on Paramount+, which is available for £6.99 a month and includes a host of blockbuster films and shows including Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Top Gun: Maverick, Tulsa King, Yellowstone and The Burning Girls. Paramount+ unveiled the first official trailer for season two on Thursday (January 11), which teases one of the game series’ central events, the fall of the planet Reach. The action-packed footage suggests the latest instalment will be even bigger than the first, with intense battles – both on Reach and in space – and widespread destruction amid the Covenant’s attack.
Fans of the series have taken to social media since the trailer dropped to share their initial reaction, with some saying it gave them “goosebumps.” Writing on X – formerly Twitter – @Prometheus21_ said: “This looks so sick, I can not wait to see this!”
