Man left reeling after finding graphic sex messages between his wife and dad

A man's kind gesture turned into a sucker-punch to the gut when he noticed something on his dad's phone.

Infidelity can devastate marriages and long-term relationships, and although some may draw a distinction between an emotional and a physical affair, it doesn't for everyone make that much difference what form the unfaithfulness took, just that it happened at all is enough to break all trust down with their partner.

For one man, finding out his wife - whom he shares two young children with - was having an affair was bad enough, but the fact that it was with his own father left him absolutely reeling and he had no idea what he should do next.

The man took to Reddit to ask for advice on what he should do next after making the shocking discovery. He explained that he had found out whilst trying to fix his father's phone. He wrote: "My mum and dad are divorced and my wife, kids and I are always hanging out with my dad.

"I accidentally came across it today via his phone when I was trying to fix an app for him and a message from my wife under a fake contact name popped up. I went to his contacts and confirmed my wife's phone number then started reading through the texts."

The man only had a matter of seconds to look at the phone before he had to return it to his dad, but in that time "saw him sending shiftless photos and the two commenting emojis about how hot their bodies are and how she's his girlfriend and I need to move out".

He left immediately without telling his father what he had discovered, and panicking, called his mother while he was in shock, "because I couldn't breathe or feel my body."

His mum, despite being divorced from his father, immediately came to her son's aid and went with him to confront his father and wife jointly over the affair. The bloke wrote: "It started as friendly then got more intimate to the point they were texting all day long and my dad was sending countless d**k pics and she was sending sexy selfies, including bras and even a topless photo."

She also said that "My dad was asking for more nudes of her vagina and making comments about performing oral sex and even that they should basically be together or marry each other. We are all supposed to go on vacation next week to the beach and my dad was texting about how hard it will be to see her and he needs to 'drain his b***s'."

The wife and father claimed that nothing physical had happened so far between them, and they had only been sending each other inappropriate text messages, but they admitted that it "would have probably progressed to that" if they hadn't been caught.

The entire affair, they claimed, had only taken place over a three-week period, but the man felt that this meant things had already moved very quickly between them if it were true.

His wife claimed that she had only participated in the affair "to make my dad happy because he's lonely and he's nice to her and like a father figure since she doesn't have a good relationship with her parents.

The man also said that his wife had excused her behaviour by cruelly saying that he had "got fat and my dad has a fit body and I'm mean to her". Despite all of this, the man was hesitant to break up his family, because he didn't want his children to grow up in a broken home.

However, most commenters couldn't believe that the man was even considering staying with his wife after a betrayal of this kind. "How do you need advice on this?" wrote one, "Divorce her and cut off your dad forever."

"Your marriage is definitely over. Maybe hit up a therapist to start working through these emotions, I think you're probably just so shocked you have no emotions because they're all just competing with each other," wrote another.
