A woman has been left heartbroken after discovering her husband has been married to another woman for 10 long years. She explained how he works away for three months at a time - and stays with his second family and 'other wife' when he is out of town, rather than being put up by the company like she was led to believe.

Disgusted and devastated, the woman sought revenge on her cheating husband - but regrets not having backup when he found out what she'd done. Sharing her story on Reddit, a user said: "A friend of mine had two kids with a guy who worked in oil fields. He worked in three-month-long shifts where he would travel to another state then come home for three months then travel again.

"They were together seven years, married for five when she was doing laundry and found a second cell phone in his pants. Turns out, he had been married for 10 years to another woman who he also had kids within his work state."

Not letting on she knew the truth, she bought her time until she had everything in place for a quick annulment and a solid case for full custody. The user added: "She decided to wait it out, filed for annulment on the basis that he was married to someone else, and filed for custody of their kids while he was gone for work.

"Once she had it all worked out she called the first wife and told her that not only had he cheated on her, he married someone else, and fathered two other kids. The husband angrily drove for 11 hours back to her state to find the house empty.

"Unfortunately for her, her not-husband-anymore found her and beat her within an inch of her life blaming her for the first wife leaving him. She was in the hospital for several months and he is now in prison."

Commenting on the post, one user said: "Damn it I wish he wouldn't have found her. F*** that guy." Another user added: "That's just how abusers are, unfortunately. As a victim of abuse, I can tell you that trying to ascribe logic to an abuser is an exercise in futility.

"Abuse comes from toxic, deeply-rooted beliefs like, 'She should know her place', 'She deserves to feel as bad as I do', and 'I wouldn't have to hurt her if she didn't make me so angry'. Trying to persuade someone like that not to hurt you is like trying to persuade fire not to burn you."

A third user said: "Jesus Christ that’s a hell of a story. What a guy, who emotionally destroys someone and then backs that up by physically destroying her too. Prison is the best place for that piece of s***."
