Trinny Woodall has teased that she will now be "tiptoeing into the dating pool" after having separated from her long-term partner Charles Saatchi around a year ago.

It was rumoured in March last year that the entrepreneur, now 59, had split from advertising executive Charles, now 80, after a decade together. Trinny went on to confirm that they were no longer in a relationship six months later.

The fashion advisor has now teased that she's ready to date again. Trinny - known for having hosted BBC's What Not to Wear alongside Susannah Constantine - shared her thoughts in a recent video that's been posted on social media.

The video, which was shared on Instagram a few days ago, showed Trinny receiving fashion advice from her pal Chloé Dall'Olio. The latter is understood to be involved with the former's makeup and skincare brand Trinny London. Discussing dressing for a date, Trinny told Chloé: "The thing is, you've been on lots of dates." She further commented as they stood in a dressing room together: "I haven't been on any yet so it's really f***ing difficult [to give advice]."

Chloé first went through her own look, which included a leather waistcoat, a black jacket, matching trousers and a pair of white boots. "I love the minimalist for dates," she shared in the video, before moving her attention to Trinny.

Trinny said: "I think I'm a bit of a disaster." She questioned whether she should wear heels on a first date and was later advised by Chloé that she "needs to feel confident". She was then told by her companion: "You need to feel yourself." Whilst doing her makeup, Trinny remarked: "Oh, the drama of going on a bl**dy date." She ended up modelling a navy shirt and coordinated trousers, which she paired with some stilettos. She accessorised with a statement silver necklace.

She later said that it can be "torture" preparing for a date. Advising fans, Trinny said: "For those of you who are also contemplating dating, you might go through the torture that I just went through, and it's about what makes you feel sexy."

Trinny wrote in the caption that accompanied the video: "What makes you feel sexy? If, like me, you're tiptoeing into the dating pool this year and feeling a little out of your depth, don't panic – @chloedallolio and I have cracked the code on date dressing for the woman you are today."

She continued in the recent post: "No need to deviate from your signature style - feeling comfortable and confident is a non-negotiable and then you can dial up the sexiness with accessories and makeup. Think about a peekaboo moment for a fabulous bra, a neckline or necklace that accentuates your shape, and a sultry smoky eye." She added: "And don't forget to choose a lip shade that's kiss-proof…"
