Cher, 77, straddles her toyboy boyfriend, 38, and insists 'love is love'
Cher defied critics of her love life as she straddled her toyboy boyfriend in a steamy photo and proclaimed “love is love”.
The 77-year-old music icon has been dating Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, 38, since November 2022, after they first met at Paris Fashion Week. Despite a reported brief split early last year, the couple reunited, and showcased their love in a sweet snap posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In the photo, Cher appears to be crying as she sits on the lap of her music executive boyfriend, and tenderly holds his face with one hand. Alexander, who shares a child with model Amber Rose, can be seen smiling at the Believe hitmaker as he rocked his signature peroxide blonde buzzcut, baggy jeans and a varsity-style jacket. “Love is Love,” she captioned the snap.

Her loyal fans were quick to show their support in the comments, with many congratulating Cher for finding true love. “You seem so happy and that’s the only important thing. I love seeing it! Sometimes happiness is so hard to find, you take it where you find it and don’t apologize for it. That’s one of the many things I love and respect about you,” one gushed. “Your love is so beautiful,”
Cher, 76, holds hands with boyfriend Alexander, 36, as they head to dinner in LACher has brushed off criticism of the 40-year age gap between her and her beau, and said “love doesn’t know math” when quizzed about her toyboy lover. However, the Oscar-winning star confessed she initially told the music executive and producer that she was “too old” for him after a mutual friend gave him her number.
“I had been telling all my friends, ‘We’re too old to go out with really younger men, and I will never fall in love on text.’ So I did what I said not to do!” she told People, adding that she “was not surprised” about the headlines regarding their romance. “No matter what happens, I love being with him. He makes me laugh, and we have fun. What I learned is that it’s never too late.”
The award-winning hitmaker said even she thought the relationship was “doomed” after looking at “the statistics”, but admitted their romance has defied the odds. “If you have happiness, you can’t think about how long it’s going to last. You have to think about, ‘How does it feel?’ and live in the moment,” Cher mused.
Rumours swirled their relationship after Cher was spotted with a huge ring on her engagement finger, but she denied they were planning to marry and allegedly went along with the speculation as a joke. They briefly split in May last year, but reconciled just a few months later.
