There are many things we love about Sophie Habboo - her style, her glowy complexion, her affordable beauty routine... the list could go on. But one new product she 'adores' for making her eyes pop and lashes look lusciously long is the Maybelline Sky High Burgundy Haze Mascara, which is causing her fans to rush to the their nearest beauty counter (or online) to get theirs hands on it.

Sharing her regime for achieving the perfect 'Sugar Plum Fairy' make up - a trend that beauty buffs having been loving this winter - Habboo, who is married to Made In Chelsea star and Candy Kittens founder Jamie Laing - posted a video on her Instagram with the caption: "My take on the Sugar Plum Fairy Make-up Trend using all products from @maybelline I adore the NEW Sky High Burgundy Mascara coming soon in Jan! #sugarplumfairymakeup #maybelline."

The new burgundy shade is one of three colours the brand brought out recently - the other two being Blue Mist (an electric blue) and Pink Air - and shoppers who have snapped it up since its launch are completely in love, commenting on Sophie's video stating they "need that mascara!"

One wrote: "Ok! I need that mascara!!!!! Sky High is amazing but in BURGUNDY!!!! Woo woo!!!!

Another shopper, who said the subtle red-brown shade made their blue eyes "pop" added: "I already use the black sky high mascara and I love how this gives me super long lashes without smudging. This one is a new burgundy colour which is great for a unique look and it makes my blue eyes really pop!

"The packaging is rose gold and really stylish. It is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, and doesn’t make my eyes water like some mascaras can. It also removes easily but stays put all day."

The original black £11.99 mascara went viral after launching in 2021 thanks to its impressive results, making eyelashes look incredible long, voluminous and dramatic - without the need for several coats. Shoppers loved it so much that it became one our The Mirror readers' top selling products of 2023. And its burgundy counterpart's only difference is colour - but its burgundy colour is game-changing when it comes to making your eye colour pop, be it green, hazel, blue or brown.

Containing a 'Flex Tower' brush that bends to volumise and extend lashes from root to tip, the mascara's formula is lightweight and great for sensitive eyes - as a contact lens wearer myself, I can attest this.

Maybelline isn't the first brand to bring out a burgundy toned mascara. Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes in a berry-brown hue provides instant volume, length and a lifted effect to lashes. The Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara in purple has also been raved about for making shoppers' green eyes "pop".

Get the Maybelline Sky High Mascara in Burgunday Haze here from Superdrug, where it costs £11.99, or here from Boots for £12.99.
