Gwyneth Paltrow vows to drink 'more alcohol' in 2024 and shuns shoulder pads

It's become a trend online for people to make their "in" and "out" lists for the upcoming new year, and Gwyneth Paltrow has made hers.

While usually people post their "in" and "out" list on social media, typically it's a screenshot of one's notes app, the founder of Goop had a different way of letting people know her thoughts. Gwyneth spoke about her lists on a red carpet.

The actress was attending the premiere of Netflix's The Brothers Sun on Thursday. The show was co-created by her husband, Brad Falchuk, and is a black comedy about a Taipai gangster must travel to Los Angeles to protect his mother and sister who don't know what he does for a living.

Gwyneth spoke on the red carpet to PEOPLE about her list and what she wanted more of in 2024. "I mean, I think in would be: peace, understanding, rest and more alcohol," she said.

As for her "out" list, the Shakespeare in Love actress told the outlet: "Out would be abject righteousness, not wanting to understand other people's points of view and really big shoulder pads."

Some of her "outs" might have to do with what she went through last year. In March 2023, Gwyneth's legal battle with retired optometrist Terry Sanderson took the world by storm.

The court case was over whether or not Gwyneth injured Terry in a ski accident in 2016. He alleged that she was skiing "out of control" and ran into him while on the slopes at Deer Valley Resorts in Park City, Utah.

After an eight day trial, the jury voted in favour of the actress. She was awarded one dollar in compensatory damages. Last month, a documentary on Discovery+ titled Gwyneth vs Terry: The Ski Crash Trial dug deep into the trial. In the documentary, journalist Daniel Bates claimed it was skewed for Gwyneth to win from the start.

"She’s got this massive fortune through GOOP, her luxury wellness brand. It didn’t seem like a fair fight," he said, "Terry Sanderson wasn’t able to hire a crack medical malpractice team. Gwyneth Paltrow’s lawyers were absolutely vicious."
