Beloved Irish presenter Graham Norton is returning to our screens to host the iconic game show Wheel of Fortune.

The star is best known for interviewing the biggest stars in the world on his BBC chat show, The Graham Norton Show. He has also been the BBC commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest since 2009. In 2019, he became a judge on legendary competition, RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

When he's not busy presenting on TV shows, game shows, competitions and radio shows, the 60-year-old lives a quiet life with his husband, Scottish filmmaker Jonathan McLeod.

Before marrying the filmmaker, Graham had a few tumultuous relationships that hit headlines over the years. Ahead of Wheel Of Fortune airing, we've put together everything we know about his love life...

Husband Jonathan McLeod

Graham Norton married the filmmaker in a private ceremony with just his close loved ones and a few celebrity pals in attendance at Bantry House in West Cork in July 2022. The Irish TV presenter tried his best to keep the identity of his partner as well as the details of their relationship under wraps.

However, the Daily Mail later reported that Grahams' husband was none other than Scottish filmmaker Jonathan McLeod. The pair who were reportedly spotted together for the first time in December 2019, were also seen stepping out together a few months after Graham's secret wedding.

Not much is known about their relationship including how the pair met or when they began dating. In September 2022, the TV host himself spoke about his wedding when he said it was a "pleasant surprise" for him to tie the knot as he assumed marriage would "never be on the cards" for him.

Before tying the knot with Jonathan, Graham dated music marketing consultant Andrew Smith. The two split up in 2015. Graham once discussed how sexist he felt their relationship was portrayed in the media.

He said: "This will sound sexist but that doesn't mean it's any less true. If I were a straight man, my female partner would have a role in the eyes of society. She would be the mother of my children, my hostess, the person on my arm at red-carpet events. She would have a defined function. But that's not the case if your partner is male," he told the Sunday Mirror.

After his split from the consultant, Graham said he would rather live alone for the rest of his life during a chat with Radio 2 show co-presenter Maria McErlane. He said at the time: "You have your own rules as you get older. I would prefer to live alone for the rest of my life rather than live with towels that were folded incorrectly. Petty is important. That’s why marriages break up. Marriages don’t break up because of big things."

Trevor Patterson

Graham once dated fashion consultant Trevor Patterson, but the two parted ways in 2013. Trevor once claimed he shared 'everything' with the talk show host when they were in a relationship for two years. Unfortunately, the relationship didn't end on good terms.

Trevor, who was 20 years younger than the host, made absurd comments about Graham and claimed he sometimes drank up to four bottles of wine a night. He also claimed Graham put the dogs before him.

"He is a fantastic man and is loved by everyone but I think he has resigned himself to being alone for ever more. He often says he doesn’t see himself with a family or with someone long-term. It’s sad," Trevor said. “In the early stages of our relationship I was aware of his dating history and knew I was one in a line of 20-somethings, so I never saw it as long-term.

"I just knew to enjoy the time while it lasted – and we did have great times. He sees himself as an old man living alone with a hot young nurse to look after him. I wanted to be the person who could change that but I realised I couldn’t be. His life is his dogs, working every day and drinking every night.”

Trevor also said: "Frankly, he’d do anything for those animals. They mean the world to him and were always his first love . . . in some ways he put them before me."

Drag Race romance

Years before Kristian Seeber rose to fame on RuPaul's Drag Race, the star enjoyed a taste of life in the spotlight thanks to a romance with presenter Graham. The drag queen, who is best known as Tina Burner, dated the popular Irish presenter for several months in 2005 before it ended in "disaster".

Graham previously recalled their brief but serious romance in his 2014 autobiography, The Life and Loves of a He Devil. The chat show host explained how he and Kristian first met at Barracuda, a gay bar in New York, and the presenter quickly felt a "special spark".

Graham said that Kristian was "tall and broad-shouldered with an easy smile that took up half his face”. Looking back on their time together - which included a brief stint living together - Graham concluded he was "not great boyfriend material".

"The experiment lasted for about six months, and it was a disaster," the presenter wrote when reflecting on their time cohabiting in London. "I realise that even to a perfect stranger, the outcome would have been glaringly obvious. But when you are in the middle of something and you are desperate for it to work, you will try anything."
