While much of the love story between Kate and Prince William is well known by the public, a royal author has claimed to have insider sources revealing what their marriage is like behind closed doors.

The author claimed that sources had informed him that despite the happy image they project whilst in public, they by no means have a "perfect" marriage and occasionally even have "terrible rows".

However, the author claimed that Kate was pretty expert at dealing with her husband's temper and knows exactly how to manage any "tantrums" that he may have during difficult moments that come up.

The author - Tom Quinn - revealed that sometimes Kate has to treat William as "the fourth child because he is prone to tantrums".

He also claimed that they can be prone to "terrific rows" and it is by no means "a perfect marriage". However, that doesn't mean that the couple are having seriously blazing arguments, with the author claiming sources informed him that they are more likely to "throw cushions at each other" than anything else.

Equally, he noted that whatever conflict comes up between them is "always kept under control".

Other reports about the Wales's parenting style confirm that the pair are able to be measured when it comes to difficult situations and not let conflict escalate into shouting.

The Sun reported that they have a strict no-shouting rule when it comes to disciplining their children: "Shouting is absolutely 'off limits' for the children and any hint of shouting at each other is dealt with by removal."

While Kate and William don't use the traditional concept of the naughty step, the newspaper also reported that the source claimed that they will take the child in question that may be misbehaving to a "chat sofa".

"There's no 'naughty step' but there is a 'chat sofa'. The naughty child is taken away from the scene of the row or disruption and talked to calmly by either Kate or William. Things are explained and consequences outlined and they never shout at them."

Valentine Low, the author of Courtiers, has claimed that the couple also have a strict dress code for any staff members working for them to ensure a healthy living environment for their children.

They want things "to be casual. The kids run around the office, and he does not want it to be stuffy. If we have important meetings or are going to Buckingham Palace, then," they wear proper suits.
