'Ingenious' Christmas tree hack means pine needles don't shed when you bin it
Today is the last day you should be taking your Christmas decorations down according to superstitions, and if you've had a tree up, you may be dreading the mess it makes - but one woman has shown how to do it without any drama.
Briony MayWilliams, who appeared on the Great British Bake Off, uploaded a video to her @brionymaybakes account captioned: "How to get your Christmas tree out of the house without getting pine needles everywhere!" She described the method as a "bit fiddly", but when you're not hoovering up hundreds of little pine needles, you'll be grateful for the hack. Briony explained that all you need is an "old duvet cover."
"You basically just throw it over the tree", she explained, and "put it all the way around." She could be seen walking around the tree, ensuring that the duvet was covering every part of the tree.
She then made sure that the tree was covered at the bottom, and all the pine needles were encased within the duvet. Briony said: "Once you've done that, you can drag the tree out of the house without getting pine needles everywhere."
When the tree had been removed, there were pine needles on the floor, but these can easily be hoovered up, or you can use a dustpan and brush, as they're contained to a specific area. Someone praised: "That's ingenious", with another adding: "I did that yesterday! So much easier than having to hoover the whole house after!"

"Brilliant", a TikToker penned, with someone else commenting that Briony's tree still looked in great condition, joking: "There's still a lot of life left in that tree. Well done you. Mine is usually touching the floor by Jan!" Another hilariously highlighted: "Your neighbours will be on the phone to the police when they see you dragging it out!"
