Everything Prince Harry said about his 'Uncle Andrew' amid 'shameful' scandal
Prince Harry called out his "Uncle Andrew" after the Duke of York became "embroiled in a shameful scandal" involving billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Andrew has faced outrage over his connection with the late sex offender after his name was included in newly unsealed legal documents relating to a 2015 lawsuit filed by Epstein victim, Virginia Giuffre. The documents mention high-profile individuals, though there is no suggestion that most of those listed either knew about his crimes or participated in any criminal behaviour.
Writing in his debut memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex spoke out about Andrew's involvement in the Epstein scandal as he recalled a conversation with his wife Meghan Markle. Harry explained how the Duchess of Sussex feared their state-funded security would be removed after they stepped down from the Royal Family.

"Also, not in the wake of my Uncle Andrew. He was embroiled in a shameful scandal, accused of the sexual assault of a young woman, and no one had so much as suggested that he lose his security. Whatever grievances people had against us, sex crimes weren't on the list."
Apart from this, Harry has not spoken about his uncle's involvement in the Epstein scandal. Andrew has faced criticism in recent years for his association with Epstein and the allegations of sexual assault made against him.

Giuffre accused the Duke of York of sexual assault (PA)In 2019, the Duke of York took part in an interview with the BBC during which he failed to explain why he had maintained a relationship with Epstein after he had been convicted as a sex offender. Public outcry following the interview saw Andrew step down from his public role within the monarchy.
He was then stripped of his military patronages and titles after Giuffre filed a civil lawsuit against him in 2021 over claims he sexually assaulted her. He settled the lawsuit out of court in 2022 for an undisclosed sum, but continues to strongly deny the allegations.
Judge Loretta A. Preska unsealed more than 170 names in a New York court on Wednesday which were linked to the Jeffrey Epstein - Ghislaine Maxwell sex trafficking conspiracy. The people named include sex abuse victims, litigation witnesses, former Epstein workers and also those not involved but who were mentioned in passing.

Before the unsealing, the names were listed in court papers as variants of J Doe. Many of the names on the list are people who had been publicly identified as Epstein associates prior to this unsealing through years of coverage of the case.
The list has been released after Preska reviewed documents sought by the Miami Herald from a civil case, filed by one of Epstein’s victims, that eventually was settled in 2017. Preska ordered the hundreds of files to be unsealed, with the 30-page summary of Ms Sjoberg’s evidence from the 2015 lawsuit also set to show Maxwell's email account.
Epstein killed himself whilst in prison in August in 2019. He had previously pleaded guilty to soliciting sex from an underage girl in 2008 in Florida, but was later hit with sex trafficking charges in 2019. His girlfriend and accomplice Maxwell was found guilty of sex trafficking in 2021 and later sentenced to 20 years in prison.
