Second unsealing of Jeffrey Epstein court files features 300 more pages
A second wave of Jeffrey Epstein documents is being unsealed, with an additional 300 pages of legal files set to be released.
The upcoming batch of files is expected to contain 19 documents, totalling around 300 pages. These eagerly awaited court documents, previously sealed, are related to Jeffrey Epstein and mention several high-profile individuals. The documents were half as many as the over 40 already released earlier on Wednesday.
Among the big names already mentioned are Michael Jackson, Prince Andrew, and Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as politicians Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. The records also include many of Epstein's accusers, members of his staff who shared their stories with tabloid newspapers, witnesses from Maxwell's trial, individuals mentioned briefly during depositions but not accused of anything scandalous, and those who investigated Epstein, including prosecutors, a journalist, and a police detective.

The people listed were those named as associates of Epstein and there is no suggestion those listed either knew about his crimes or participated in any criminal behaviour. The judge who made the decision stated in December that she was ordering the records to be released because much of the information within them is already public knowledge.

Jeffrey Epstein was a billionaire known for associating with celebrities, politicians, billionaires and academic stars. He was initially arrested in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2005 after he was accused of paying a 14-year-old girl for sex.

The documents being unsealed are part of a 2015 lawsuit filed against Ghislaine Maxwell by one of Epstein's victims, Virginia Giuffre. She is one of dozens of women who sued Epstein saying he had abused them at his homes in Florida, New York, the U.S. Virgin Islands and New Mexico.
It was during Maxwell's criminal trial two years ago that Epstein's victims, some of whom aspired to be models or artists, described how he dropped the names of his famous and influential friends to suggest that he was the victims' ticket to reaching their dreams.
Maxwell, 62, was convicted of sex trafficking charges and is serving a 20-year prison sentence.
