The Traitors fans left 'screaming at the TV' over 'cruel' cliffhanger amid twist
The Traitors fans were left screaming at the TV tonight over a "cruel" cliffhanger.
22 contestants have headed to a castle in the Scottish Highlands in the hope of winning up to £120,000. Tonight, we see Claudia assign some of the contestants as Traitors - and all they must do is murder their fellow contestants from the game.
However, they need to keep their plans a secret as the other contestants are desperately trying to work out who might be a Traitor and trick them before they get banished from the game and become a victim of The Traitors.
As part of the new series, the group will face missions, where they will have a chance of earning special immunity shields meaning they cannot be murdered by one or more of The Traitors - but who will get one?
Tonight, the first three Traitors were chosen by Claudia as Harry, Paul and Ash all got a cloak each. They were also allowed to pick one more person to join their team - but tonight, as fans waited to find out who it would be, the show ended on a huge cliffhanger.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessFans will have to wait until tomorrow - or watch now on BBC iPlayer - to find out who the newest Traitor is. Taking to social media to comment on the cliffhanger, one wrote: "Not the cliffhanger #TheTraitors," whilst a second added: "Leaving it on a cliffhanger where we don't know who the fourth traitor is or who is in contention to be murdered. BBC you are NOTHING #TheTraitorsUK."
A third shared: "Not the cliffhanger… I want more! #TheTraitors," whilst a fourth added: "NOT THE CLIFFHANGER!!! Well, I’ll HAVE to watch episode 2 on IPlayer then #TheTraitors." A fifth shared: "DO NOT CLIFFHANGER THIS. #TheTraitorsUK."
One contestant, Andrew, a 45-year-old insurance broker from Talbot Green, nearly died in a horrifying incident over two decades ago.
"I was pronounced dead on the side of the road 23 years ago and I was in a coma for nearly five weeks. My parents were told I’d never walk ever again, I had brain damage and that there's a chance of me not waking up from my coma. My parents were told that if I did wake up, I’d never walk, talk or use my arms again and I may not recognise them. They were told to prepare for the worst. There's lots of things that happened to me, and the doctors call me a miracle patient," he explained.
"I met the man who saved my life last year. I met him and I shook his hand and said thank you for saving my life. There are not many people out there who get a chance to see somebody who saved their life and say thank you. It was a very emotional thing."
Ahead of the series, 66-year-old Sonja revealed she was desperate to be a Traitor.
"I’m really hoping I'll be a Traitor. I think I've got the mental resilience to cope. Having looked at the programme, I can see it's much more challenging than you think it's going to be. But I think I've got this toolkit of ways to negotiate with people and ways to get the best out of people. I think when you negotiate, it isn't about doing a good deal just for your company or yourself. It's about a win-win. So, everybody gets something good," she shared, "I think I'm going to find a way to get the best information out of people without upsetting them, and just be totally devious and use that information to murder and manipulate."
