Jessie J admits she dramatically changed her life after devastating miscarriage
Jessie J has opened up on the dietary changes she made in the wake of the tragic miscarriage she suffered in November 2021.
At the time the 35-year-old revealed the devastating news on Instagram shortly before taking to the stage in Los Angeles, adding that continuing to perform would help with her grief. Jessie went on to explain that after going for her third scan, she was sadly told there was no longer a heartbeat.
In May 2023, however, the Domino singer gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Sonny, which she described as "life-changing" and something that gave her a "whole new sense of purpose". Now, the pop star has explained that she would like to be vegan again - just as she was throughout her first pregnancy and in the months afterwards.
"I stopped being vegan when I fell pregnant for the first time," she admitted. "Then didn't stop. Then when I fell pregnant the second time I was off meat completely and then craved it like crazy when I was breastfeeding. Fast forward to now. I wanna be vegan again, not applying so much pressure on myself this time. But defo don't feel good in my body. So gonna give it a go... the old me is the new me."
Days before Christmas Jessie took to her Instagram account again, meanwhile, to mark Sonny's first ever meeting with Santa. The pair ventured to Lapland UK in Ascot, Berkshire. Dressed in a red and white Father Christmas outfit himself, Sonny looked undeniably cute as his mum looked on lovingly.
Greggs, Costa & Pret coffees have 'huge differences in caffeine', says reportSharing a snap of the occasion, she wrote: "I went to Lapland UK today and spent the day trying to get the elves to break character. Not one of them did. Respect." Jessie, who shares the youngster with basketball player Chanan Safir Colman, is currently "unemployed" after parting ways with her record company to focus on motherhood. Speaking on her Instagram story, she explained that she parted on good terms with the music company and thanked the team for their help over the years.
Sharing an insight into her new life, she joked she is now unemployed but is hoping to put out new music as an independent artist shortly. In a video in September, she said: "My lawyer said that I need to make a statement about the decision that I have made. I don't want it to feel like a huge, big thing. After 17 years I have decided to leave Republic Records. I was about six months pregnant when I made this decision.
She continued: "Monte and Avery Lipman, and Jason Flomm have been so gracious and kind in supporting my decision and letting me go. It's been the most amazing high and low ride of my life. I just feel so grateful to have been signed to the best record label in the world. I have to just be honest with who I am and what I want from my career now. There's no negative spin it's not dramatic. I just didn't feel right being signed and it hasn't for years. So, I need to stop just trusting my instincts and ask for them... so now I am unemployed."
