Oti Mabuse and her husband Marius Lepure have poked fun at an online news article that featured a fake image of the pair cradling their newborn baby.

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti declared the birth of their child as a Christmas "miracle" after announcing the tot's arrival on Christmas Day. The 33-year-old previously admitted she had "given up" on trying to conceive after struggling for a considerable period, only to delight her fans with news of her pregnancy in August.

On Tuesday Oti reacted in hysterics, however, after spotting the story which depicted her family with a baby that looked considerably older than one that had recently been born. The dancer also joked that there was no way she had time for the self-care that the mum in the shot has.

Pointing to the image in question in a video shared to TikTok, Oti laughed: "So this is supposed to be me and Marius. I don't who she is but this lady has time to moisturise her skin! She has time to get her wig done and she's even got time for earrings!" Then, pointing to herself, she declared: "But this lady doesn't!"

Studying the man on the snap, she added: "Look - this guy has slept! But this guy [Marius] is up at 4am!" She continued: "And whose baby is that? The internet is internetting! Who are these people?"

Over on Oti's Instagram, her 700,000 followers were highly amused too, with one commenting: "I'm literally howling.. Best thing I've seen today. Love you guys." Another joked: "Welcomed a baby who was born at 5 years old!"

A third added: "This content is nothing short of iconic. The error was worthwhile JUST FOR THIS." And a fourth said: "The picture was definitely AI-generated haha."

Speaking after the birth, meanwhile, Oti's older sister Motsi explained that she will continue to "protect" her sibling even though she is now a mum. "Nobody teaches you how to be an older sister and even though my sister is a mom the instinct to help, to protect and be there doesn't stop," she said.

"I want to protect her from everything but I know I can't. Sometimes I wish I wasn't the first born because I think you inherit the responsibility. So so proud of you sis. You are going to be a fierce mom."

In a separate Instagram post, meanwhile, Motsi shared a sweet snap of her holding the baby but made a slight blunder in the caption by revealing the baby's gender before Oti had. "Merry Christmas call us Auntie & Uncle!! she proudly declared. "Welcome to the family baby girl @otimabuse & @mariusiepure welcome to parenthood lol it’s going to be fun."
