Stacey Solomon welcomes 2024 in Jamaica as she hits back at fan criticism

Stacey Solomon made a sly dig towards trolls who recently criticised her "public spending" as she shared a series of snaps from her family's holiday in Jamaica.

Last week the 34-year old revealed she had flown 20 of her nearest and dearest to the Caribbean for a festive break, prompting some of her followers to hit out her "mega spending" despite her "working class hero" persona. Now, the former X Factor contestant says she plans to "let go of the negativity" in her life in 2024.

Taking to Instagram, the mother-of-five wrote: " Happy New Year. And Hello 2024… from my family to yours. Firstly, I just want to say, thank you for all of your kindness in 2023. I’m so grateful for this platform & all of the happiness and friendship it brings."

She continued: "I can’t wait to share another year with you, and I hope I can bring a smile or some comfort in to your 2024. But most of all, anything that maybe wasn’t right or didn’t sit well or you wished you could have done or that you held back from last year, I hope you go and get it this year.

"It’s definitely time to let go of the negativity or those people trying to put you down and GO AND DO YOU! You deserve it. Let this be YOUR year. And say f**k it to anyone or anything that pulls you away from the love & happiness you deserve. Love you all to the moon and back. 2024 let’s do this!!"

Stacey and her husband Joe Swash were all smiles on the beach as they proudly showed off their brood in front of a stunning oceanic backdrop. Joined by her sister Jemma, dad David and her nieces and nephews, the whole family then enjoyed a fireworks display as the clocks struck midnight.

Reacting to the family album, one of Stacey's 5.8 million followers wrote: "Ahhh this is just wonderful. Happy new year Stace. It's so lovely to see you away spending time with your team." Another commented: "You have such a beautiful, happy family. What more could you ask for, you have come so far and are so lucky to have each other. I'm so jealous of what you've got as I would of loved a love like you 2 have, lucky family. Keep smiling, keep laughing and always love each other because you are perfect together xx god bless you all and a very happy 2024."

A third added: "Happy New Year to you and your amazing family Stacey. Thanks for giving me such joy in 2023, I love watching your stories they always cheer me up, such a great sense of humour." And a fourth said: "Happy new year. This is a gorgeous post. I’ve loved following your family over the last few years & I love how much you’ve grown & seeing all your wins in life.
