Coronation Street's Tina O'Brien feels super lucky and is full of love for her co-star as she gets ready for another exciting year on the show.

She's famous for playing Sarah Platt and has been in the middle of big drama in Weatherfield in 2023. Her character had a rocky marriage with Adam Barlow because of her affair with Damon Hay, and she helped to stop the bad guy Stephen Reid.

In 2024, Sarah's life will be shaken up again when two characters come back to the street. The baddie Damon, played by Ciaran Griffiths, is coming back, which could mess things up for Tina's character just as she's fixing things with Adam.

Tina loves being on Corrie more than ever and feels like she's hit the jackpot with her job. She shared with the ECHO and other reporters: "To be honest, I feel I've won the lottery when it comes to my job, I really do. I absolutely love working with the people that I love."

She also said: "With Ciaran being back as well, I've just not stopped laughing. He's probably more mischievous in real life than his character, which is saying something in a really nice way. He just brings a lot of good energy to set and makes it really good fun to work on."

In 2024, Sarah will celebrate as her daughter, Bethany Platt, comes back to Weatherfield. Played by Lucy Fallon, co-star Tina can't contain her excitement: "And then there's Lucy. I love her, and it's amazing to have her back." She also loves working with Lucy again: "For me personally, working with Lucy Fallon again has just been such a joy."

Bethany's return could stir up the drama pot. If she restarts her relationship with old flame Daniel Osbourne who's now with Daisy Midgeley? It could cause trouble. "I think if Sarah knows Bethany well enough, she knows that there's probably going to be drama following very closely behind her. She's over the moon that Bethany is back. She's not expecting to see her, and it's a complete surprise." notes Tina.

Bethany might initially keep mum about any Daniel-related issues which could leave Sarah feeling in the dark. "In the first episodes, Bethany doesn't tell Sarah certain things about Daniel, so I think Sarah feels quite put out. She doesn't really know what's going on properly."

The return of Bethany brightens up the Platt family unit, much to the delight of Tina: "There's a dynamic between the group of us that it's just so beautiful to be a part of. You've got such different characters. There's David's sarcasm and his little put-downs. Sarah's always trying to be the best child, and the rest of the family are rolling [their] eyes at her."

Tina couldn't hold back her laughter as she dished on filming the hilarious scenes with her onscreen family - Jack P Shepherd, who plays her character's brother and Helen Worth, who stars as her mum Gail.

She confessed: "If I've got scenes with Jack after 4pm, I cannot keep a straight face. So if we've got lines, I can't even look him in the eye, but he gets it because he just makes me laugh too much."

"But Helen Worth is the cheeky one. She'll get you laughing and is a bit of a dark horse. She looks really sensible and behaving herself, but she's the one that will make everybody corpse!"
