Eric Bailly has seen his Besiktas contract ripped up leaving the former Manchester United star seeking a new club once again.

The Ivorian moved to the Turkish outfit in September but a bust-up with his own team-mate and an alleged curse placed upon him has seen his time in Istanbul cut short. Back in November Bailly clashed with his own team-mate, Tayfur Bingol, during Besiktas' league clash at Antalyaspor.

He later said the flare up with Bingol was due to "competitive tension" as he was hauled off at half-time following a spat on the pitch. Since then his opportunities have been limited with Bailly playing just 27 more minutes throughout the month.

Last month things went from bad to worse with the centre-half claiming he'd been the victim of a curse. An agent stated he was owed money following the deal that saw Bailly head to Besiktas back in the summer and a string of WhatsApp messages followed.

The agent sent a message to Bailly during Besiktas’s 3-1 defeat to Fenerbahce on Saturday night, vowing to place a curse on him. Then, almost immediately, Bailly was penalised for handball and conceded a penalty. The agent followed that with another message which read: “I am happy to see what my curse is doing to you. You are not a man. You are a big Mickey Mouse.”

They are among several messages sent to the player, who has also claimed that the agent has “threatened to send people” round to him. The matter has been reported to Besiktas who promised to report it to the police while world governing body FIFA also oversees agents.

Bailly's agent, his uncle Severin Bohui commented on the saga: "He's not stopped sending him threats, messages and blackmails. He is insinuating Eric owes him some money, because he was part of the people who brokered his move to Besiktas. Therefore Eric should pay him some money.

"I asked Eric if he signed any intermediation contract with this guy, he said no. I also asked the club if they knew this guy or if they asked him to speak to Eric on their behalf, they also said no. Same old story of agents trying to barge in deals."

Bailly was among five senior players who had been cast aside from the first-team in December with Besiktas citing issues with team compatibility and poor performances. Rafaela Pimenta, who also manages Bailly, has said: "The player's rights are being violated and we will make sure to protect him."
