Lorraine Kelly has bagged a fun new role on the panel of fan-favourite series, The Masked Singer.

The ITV talk show host, 64, will be working as a guest judge alongside the likes of Sir Lenny Henry, Rob Brydon, and Ellie Goulding. She'll also join series regulars Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall. Olly Murs, Busted star Charlie Simpson and Jennifer Saunders will replace Rita for a couple of episodes.

After the news was announced, Lorraine took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share her excitement about joining the singing competition. "To say I’m excited about being a judge for this bonkers, fabulous, funny and utterly incredible show does not go nearly far enough," she said.

"I’m BESIDE MYSELF. Can’t wait to see who is behind those masks."

Host of the series Joel Dommett also opened up about the upcoming series and explained: "I think it's definitely my best series just because of my child arriving. I feel like it's all so joyous and fun. I am viewing it all in an entirely different way." He also said: "I think we've definitely got some of the best vocalists we've ever had on the show and we've had some really incredible ones in the past.

"The show goes through an interesting meandering of, we are all here for all the new characters, but then maybe the better singers start to get through in the last rounds, usually the final. Let's be honest, it's usually really incredible singers left at that point."

The Masked Singer will return to our screens in just a few days time with the most bonkers line-up of costumes yet. Since the UK series aired, viewers have been at the edge of their seats trying to guess which celebrities were hiding underneath whacky and elaborate costumes.

Some hilarious costumes include Eiffel Tower and Air Fryer. Fans will be wowed by an Owl in school uniform, a Bigfoot with a broken leg, a Cup of Bubble Yea and a Rat wearing a tool belt! Viewers will also see a Dippy Egg, the Weather and a Chicken Caesar take to the stage.

Talking about the costumes, Jonathan Ross said: "I love all of them. I really loved Weather. I thought that was a really beautiful, quite romantic, quite poetic-looking costume. I liked Piranha a lot. They're fun, I have to say. Bubble Tea is great. Well, Bubble Tea and Air Fryer make the show very, very modern, don't they? There's a couple of phrases that weren't in common conversation two or three years ago, and now we've got them dancing on primetime ITV1!"
