Gypsy Rose Blanchard's release sparks bizarre party trend as killer lands fans
Gypsy Rose Blanchard is on the verge of her release with fans beginning to prepare for her release after being convicted in 2016 for the murder of her mother.
Blanchard confessed to her part in the murder of mum Clauddine alongside her then-boyfriend Nick Godejohn - who was the one to actually carry out the crime. Godejohn stabbed Clauddine in the middle of the night in collusion with Blanchard, who let him into their home.
Keen followers of Blanchard’s story on TikTok have been imagining all the possibilities in store for the now-32-year-old as she is set to be released on December 28. Some suggest she should start up a YouTube channel, while others said she needs to be shown AI chatbot ChatGPT and rapper sensation Ice Spice.

The case wasn’t black and white, with many showing understanding for Blanchard who had gone through years of medical abuse from her mother. Blanchard was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy - meaning her mother pretended throughout Blanchard’s childhood that she had a long list of illnesses, ranging from leukaemia to muscular dystrophy.
Man in 30s dies after being stabbed in park sparking police probeBlanchard was forced to stay in a wheelchair, use a feeding tube and take a number of medications which she didn’t actually need. Clauddine had Blanchard’s salivary glands taken out causing her teeth to rot and lied about her daughter’s age to make her seem much younger - allowing her to keep legal control.
When Blanchard tried to run away, she said, her mother “physically chained me to the bed, and put bells on the doors, and told anybody that I probably would have trusted that I was going through a phase, and to tell her if I was doing anything behind her back”. And on June 14 2015, Blanchard finally snapped and colluded in the stabbing of her mother.
She accepted a plea deal for second-degree murder for her role in facilitating Clauddine’s death, with Nick Godejohn sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole. And last September, Blanchard was finally granted parole with her fans delighted.
TikTok users have now widely shared their hopes for Blanchard after her release.
