A Tesla software engineer has been mauled by a malfunctioning robot leaving a trail of blood across the factory floor.

The dystopian incident happened at the electric vehicle maker's massive factory in Texas, US. The machine, which was built for moving aluminium auto parts around the factory, buried its metal claws into the engineer's back and arm.

According to witnesses the 'attack' left a trail of blood through the factory. The engineer was working on software that controls robots that cut vehicle parts from freshly cast aluminium bits.

Although two of the robots were turned off so the maintenance crew could work on them, one was accidentally left on. This ended in the bloody attack.

Following the incident Tesla owner Elon Musk posted on social media ranting against cancel culture.

An injury report that was sent to Travis County health officials in addition to federal regulators. It states that the engineer sustained a "laceration, cut or open wound" on his left hand. It doesn't seem like the injury was serious enough to require the worker to take time off. Tesla has not issued a statement.

Nearly one out of every 21 employees at the Giga Texas factory allegedly suffered an injury last year, according to injury reports filed by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

One worker out of every 30 experienced an injury in the automobile industry last year. A number of Tesla employees, both current and former, said that the corporation frequently took shortcuts in operations, maintenance, and construction, putting them in danger.

Sources said safety failures had resulted from management's expectations for rapid output. Witnesses stated that large pieces of equipment, such as air conditioning ducts, steel beams, and cranes, have fallen close to workers on auto assembly lines. Workplace records showed that workers became unwell after being exposed to contaminants like ammonia. An employee missed over four months of work last summer after getting their ankle stuck under a moving cart.

A few days later, a second employee suffered a metal object strike to the head, necessitating an 85-day absence from work.

Workers at the Tesla factory reported seeing forklifts clash with assembly line workers. A water leak into the molten aluminium utilised in the castings section, which creates the underbody of Tesla's Model Y, on or around New Year's Day, 2023, caused an explosion that witnesses described as sounding like a "sonic boom."

According to the report, the explosion shot a ball of flames and then smoke into the air, sending workers running away in fear. The number of injuries sustained is unknown because that information is absent from the paperwork filed with Texas' safety inspectors.

After California regulators restricted corporate activities owing to the coronavirus outbreak, Tesla CEO Elon Musk's company started building on the factory in the summer of 2020.

Writing on X, formerly Twitter, following the robot attack, co-founder and CEO of Tesla Elon Musk said "We need to cancel cancel culture. We should be about building others up rather than tearing people down for a moment in the sun."

The post continued: "People always show who their true colors are. Just let them show you who they are by their actions.

"What’s insane is people who attack or try to bring down others serving a community and helping others."
