With Christmas Day out of the way, Premier League fans can look forward to the transfer window re-opening and the chaos that brings.

Whether they sign new players or get rid of the deadwood, all 20 top-flight clubs will look to do business in January to give them a boost for the rest of the season. Big teams in Europe will also be looking at the Premier League to see who they can bring in.

With that in mind, Mirror Football have found eight transfer stories for you to follow during the January window. They involve some of the Premier League's biggest clubs - including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City. Enjoy...

Ivan Toney to Chelsea

This is likely to be the biggest story of the January transfer window. Toney, 27, was handed an eight-month ban after breaching the Football Association's betting rules but will be available for selection again next month, putting England's biggest clubs on red alert.

Toney hit 20 Premier League goals last season. Strikers of that calibre are hard to find these days and Brentford could demand up to £100million for his signature as a result. He's out of contract in 18 months' time, which means now could be the perfect time to sell.

Chelsea and Arsenal are both believed to be interested in the England international, with both teams lacking a prolific centre-forward. Chelsea's need for a striker is greater - with them 10th in the table - and have the financial firepower to win battles like this.

Dominic Solanke to Arsenal

Who do you think will complete a transfer in January? Let us know in the comments below!

But if the Gunners miss out on Toney, Solanke would be a fine alternative. The Bournemouth striker has bagged nine Premier League goals this season to prove he can flourish among England's elite and, at 26, is a year younger than his Brentford counterpart.

Arsenal are thought to be interested in signing Solanke, who fired England to victory at the U17 World Cup in 2017, but the Cherries might be unwilling to sell their talisman. He remains under contract until June 2027 and won't be available on the cheap. It'll be interesting to see how much Arsenal are willing to pay, should they decide to make a move.

Serhou Guirassy to Manchester United

Erik ten Hag's attack just isn't firing this season. Marcus Rashford has only two goals to his name in all competitions, while Rasmus Hojlund is yet to score in the Premier League. Only five teams have scored fewer goals in England's first tier this season.

United need to bring in a striker in January. One man who could make an instant impact at Old Trafford is Guirassy, a 27-year-old Guinea international who few Premier League fans had heard of at the beginning of the year but is now tearing up the Bundesliga.

Guirassy has scored 18 goals in just 15 club appearance for Stuttgart this season and could be viewed as a short-term fix by United. Yet Fulham, West Ham and AC Milan are also keen on the striker. It'll be interesting to see how this transfer saga plays out.

Aaron Ramsdale to Chelsea

Ramsdale's future has been a talking point ever since Arsenal signed David Raya from Brentford on a season-long loan in August. Raya is now Mikel Arteta's No.1 goalkeeper and Ramsdale, 25, will need to find another club if he wants to play as often as hoped.

Chelsea could be the perfect club for the Englishman. Their No.1 goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has a knee injury, leaving back-up stopper Djordje Petrovic between the sticks. Even if Sanchez returns to fitness soon, Ramsdale is still an upgrade on the Spaniard.

It's believed the Blues aren't currently looking to sign Ramsdale because they want to give Petrovic a chance, but a lot can change between now and the end of January. Newcastle are also thought to be interested in Ramsdale after losing Nick Pope to injury.

David de Gea to Newcastle

Yet De Gea could be a more realistic option for the Magpies. Pope is expected to return in April or May, meaning Newcastle need to sign a goalkeeper to fill in for the rest of the season. De Gea, 33, is still a free agent after leaving Manchester United in July.

The Spaniard remains one of the best stoppers in Europe after winning the Premier League's Golden Glove award last season. He'll be eager to get back between the sticks and Eddie Howe would probably welcome him with open arms. Watch this space!

Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich

Where does Palhinha go? The Portugal international was on the verge of joining Bayern Munich in September but the deadline day move collapsed at the 11th hour when Fulham failed to find a replacement. Thankfully for Palhinha, Bayern are still interested.

But so are several other clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester City. It's believed Fulham want between £50m and £60m for the 28-year-old midfielder and it'll be interesting to see how this transfer saga plays out. Considering Palhinha was all set to join Bayern a few months ago, they must be the favourites for his signature.

Kalvin Phillips to Juventus

Phillips needs to leave Manchester City. The England international, 28, has made just two Premier League starts for Pep Guardiola's side since arriving from Leeds in July 2022 - and both of those appearances came after the title had already been secured last term.

Guardiola clearly doesn't trust Phillips and will only give him a chance when there's little to play for. Juventus are said to be interested in signing him on loan in January to replace Nicolo Fagioli, who is currently serving a seven-month ban for breaching betting rules.

A temporary switch would give Phillips the chance to prove himself ahead of Euro 2024. Playing for Juventus - one of the biggest clubs in the world - would also be a privilege. They are second in Serie A, just four points behind leaders Inter Milan.

Jadon Sancho to RB Leipzig

Another England international who needs a fresh start in January is Sancho. The 23-year-old winger hasn't played for Manchester United since his public spat with Ten Hag in September and several clubs will be interested in signing him on loan next month.

Barcelona and Juventus are thought to be keen, but RB Leipzig are the favourites to sign the £73m man. Sancho scored 38 goals and provided 51 assists in 104 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Dortmund, making his services very appealing to German clubs.
