Vanessa Feltz looks like she is having a very jolly Christmas - as she celebrates the festive season for the first time since her split from Ben Ofoedu.

The 61-year-old broadcasting icon was in a relationship with 51-year-old singer Ben for seventeen years until their romance collapsed in February this year. The end of the relationship hit Vanessa hard and she dropped over two stone in weight as she struggled to eat and endured a ‘heartbreak diet’ as she faced life without her former fiancé.

But with the Christmas season in full swing, Vanessa seems to be throwing herself fully into celebrations - as she prepares to leave her failed engagement in 2023. Taking to social media on Christmas Day, the Celebs Go Dating star posed for a number of family photos with her family.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Vanessa shared a snap of herself and her family all wearing matching pyjamas while posing in front of a giant Christmas tree. The star added a festive caption to the snap, writing: “Merry Christmas health and happiness”.

And Vanessa appeared to put her health to the test as she hinted she had gone for a dip in the sea on Christmas morning. The star shared a shot of Christmas Day swimmers in a harbour and added a caption to the snap, writing: “Christmas Day swim in Ballycotton”.

Vanessa’s fun-fueled celebrations continued, as she then shared snaps of herself enjoying a glass of champagne while wearing a sequin dress, and a short video of herself pulling a cracker with a young family member. The grandmother of four is enjoying the party season almost a year after her shock split from Ben.

The pair had first got together in 2006, becoming engaged that same year. While the duo never did walk down the aisle, their relationship explosively ended in February this year - with Ben ultimately confessing he cheated on his fiancée as their big day failed to materialise.

He told the MailOnline: “I will always love Vanessa she is the Queen of my heart she was my everything. But I have been incredibly foolish and stupid. I just have to hold my hands up and be honest. I have every regret - where do you want me to start?

“It has been a lot. It is about my behaviour, I have to look at myself. I have been doing a lot of soul-searching over the past three weeks. I'm not here to point fingers I am here to say it's me and I need to work on myself. I don't come from a family that spoke about therapy but I'd love now to see a therapist. I need someone to help me sort things out. There were two situations that have meant I have effectively thrown my life away.”

He also admitted to his affair, telling the Mirror: “I cheated because I was insecure. The girl in Ibiza said things like ‘You’re such a great guy. I don’t know why you’re not married. Who wouldn’t want to marry you?’ That coupled with alcohol was a recipe for disaster. It was a volatile situation. That’s why that happened.”

Fans have been wowed by Vanessas transformation following the end of the romance - but she has insisted she wouldn’t recommend the heartbreak diet she has succumbed to. She said: “I've been too heartbroken to eat anything, and I don't think that's a very nice diet. I've been on it before and it's horrible. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm sure I'll get my appetite back when I go back to being OK.”
