Abbey Clancy is still ticked off by Peter Crouch's efforts last Christmas

Peter Crouch had better be making it up to wife Abbey Clancy today after she claims he forgot to buy her presents last year - and went to the pub as she stayed at home cooking alone.

The former footballer sunk a few pint as she made the spuds perfect and the furious model made sure she left everyone know about a nightmare Christmas. Peter didn't deny it as the pair appeared on Michael McIntyre's Christmas Wheel - and he dare not get it wrong this time.

She took aim at the towering ex-England striker, 42, and announced: "Last year everyone went the pub and left me on my own to do all the dinner and everything. It's not every year but it was the year you didn't get me any presents." The audience then rightly booed her husband who had little in the way of defence.

"It is true. I did that thing were you are like 'what do you want for Christmas, oh let's not do presents this year' but he took it literally," she went on. Peter asked: "Did I not get you anything?" before telling poor Abbey that he "didn't believe it" as host Michael looked on stunned. The show airs Christmas Day at 6.50pm on BBC1.

The couple share Sophia, 12, Liberty, eight, Johnny, five and Jack, four, together and Abbey wants her man to help out more about the house. Chatting to new! magazine, she said: 'Pete and I have been together for nearly 20 years, and it's hard to keep the spark alive.

"Like any couple, we have our niggles. You can slip into your roles of cooking and cleaning and you need to break that cycle. I'd love it if Peter was more domesticated but I've given up and he leaves me to do the cooking and cleaning," she said of about the podcast host.

She says a surprise holiday with her husband helped them reconnect. The 37-year-old mum-of-four admitted their relationship had hit a rough patch before Peter surprised her with a trip to Thailand last month. "Pete and I have been together for nearly 20 years, and it's hard to keep the spark alive," she admitted.

"The main thing is not to take each other for granted, and Pete surprised me with a trip to Thailand, which was such a thoughtful thing to do. However, the trip wasn't without its hiccups. Abbey laughed as she recalled: "The only thing was Pete didn't realise it was monsoon season it rained non-stop!" and "We were there for 48 hours and we didn't leave our room."
