EastEnders actor James Bye, who plays Martin Fowler in the soap, has shared a chaotic Christmas update with his fans.

The soap star took to Instagram on Christmas Eve to reveal that his seven year old son Louis had an unfortunate accident with a potato peeler, leading to "blood literally everywhere."

Thankfully, little Louis is on the mend and fine and ready for Father Christmas paying the Bye household a visit later this evening. Doting dad James took to Instagram on Christmas Eve to share a candid update with his followers and share his hope for the rest of the festive season.

The EastEnders star posted a cute photo of his family in matching festive pyjamas and explained the incident. He said: "Louis (who else?) took the end of his finger off with the peeler. (Seriously, the blood! Literally everywhere ... Anyway! Fa la la la laaaaa - and have another sherry)."

Despite the mishap, James managed to get everyone into a matching onesie for a photo shoot. He added: "So yes, it's fair to say it's all a bit manic... But in all the palaver and festive shenanigan, I somehow found the time to manhandle everyone into a matching onesie photo shoot...I mean, how could I resist!"

Fans flooded the comments section with Christmas wishes, with one commenting: "Poor louis! The joys of being a boy mum haha (me too x 3) have theeeee best time.
