A woman was left miffed after a bride had "stormed off" in the middle of her hen do and decided to call off her wedding the next day.

Blogger Charlotte Burn shared that one of her university friends had invited her to the hen do back in 2020, which was being held at Center Parcs. Despite not being close with the bride-to-be, the pair had stayed in touch online after graduating, and she figured if she didn't go on the hen do, they might not ever meet up.

Although the party got off to a good start, with the women enjoying some drinks and a much-needed catch-up, the day ended in disaster. The confused guest felt that she was blamed for the cancelled nuptials despite "not even sleeping with the groom".

She booked three days off work, and forked out for the trip and even turned up "with a suitcase of Champagne", but as soon as she arrived, she realised she didn't know anyone but the bride.

Charlotte, a money blogger who runs the lottyearns website, said at the time there were about eight people and "no-one really knew anyone else", as they were all just friends from different parts of her life. She said: "Luckily, they were all absolutely brilliant. We got on like a house on fire. Went to the pool on the day and then drank that night.

"It got to about 10pm and the bride-to-be told us we all had to go to bed. We were at a good level of drunk at that point so weren't having it. She stormed off, slammed the door and we kept drinking. We were worried, but not going to bed. We carried on drinking."

The next morning the hens were all woken up by the "furious" bride who demanded they put on their hen do sashes. Charlotte confessed: "We all get the Center Parcs train, all dressed up in hen do gear, but with the bride on her phone raging. We're sat there, trying to awkwardly make small talk.

"We get to Cafe Rouge and she says she needs to make a call. We all go in and figure out what to do." But things went from bad to worse for the giggling new friends as the bride never came back. She'd gone back to the lodge, locked them out, and headed home.

Charlotte added: "Then the group email came. Opens up with personal insults. Finishes by telling us how we ruined her hen do. "*She* was supposed to be the centre of attention, and we were too friendly with each other. She said the wedding was cancelled and it was all our fault."

In the end, the other hens ended up becoming friends. "The bride really did cancel the wedding and never spoke to me again," she added. "She tried to contact others years later, but they were too hurt. So yah - ruined a wedding and didn't even sleep with the groom. Impressive!"
