Nikita Kuzmin celebrates birthday with girlfriend as co-stars reach out
Nikita Kuzmin flashed a winning smile as he posed for photos and marked his latest birthday alongside girlfriend Lauren Jaine.
The Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer was partying up a storm in Italy, where he caught up with his professional dancer sister Anastasia Kuzmina, 30, and fellow Strictly star Vito Coppola, 33 - among others. Nikita’s elder sister performs on the Italian version of Strictly - titled Ballando con le Stelle - which is also the platform that Vito used to dance on before he transferred to the UK.
Nikita, who hails from Ukraine, took to Instagram on Saturday to highlight his birthday and share a selection of photos of himself celebrating with his family and friends - with his proud mum Natalia also part of the celebrations. While Nikita’s stash of images had an image of him as the cover image, fans flicking through were treated to a number of other snaps.
One image showed the BBC star sticking out his tongue while surrounded by those closest to him - including his model girlfriend, Lauren. Other snaps showed images of family members, a snap of Nikita cuddling a cat, and a photo of him smiling with a drink sat in front of him.

The star shared the images along with a caption reading: “Birthday with the loved ones” along with a white heart emoji and numbers to highlight that he had turned 26-years-old.

Girlfriend Lauren had a surprisingly blunt response to Nikita's message and string of images, writing simply in the comments of the post: "Old man". While his most recent Strictly Come Dancing partner, Layton Williams, sent a string of heart-hand emojis in response as a congratulatory gesture.
Nikita and Layton made it to the Strictly final earlier this month - but lost out to Italian pro dancer Vito and his celebrity partner, soap actress Ellie Leach. Vito appeared to be on hand to help Nikita celebrate his birthday in Italy too.

Vito Coppola joined Nikita in Rome during his birthday season (Instagram)On Lauren’s Instagram, she shared a couple of snaps of her stories of Nikita with other people - one image showing him sat happily beside Vito. While Nikita and Layton didn’t scoop the Glitterball Trophy, they were still thrilled to make it to second place.
Strictly fans were warmed by the friendship that blossomed between the boys, with many flooding social media to share their support after the final. One fan wrote: "Will miss seeing you guys slay the house down every week! you’ve brought so much joy and pride to so many people! you should be so proud of yourselves." And another added: "What a gorgeous friendship you guys have - loved every single dance! x".
Strictly will return for a festive special on Christmas day - although Nikita will be taking a back seat during the show. A string of celebs will be dancing in front of the judges including historian Dan Snow, Sugababes icon Keisha Buchanan and BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent.
