It was business as usual for Chloe Madeley who put on a defiant display despite her ex James Haskell's cutting comments made in public.

The former couple's relationship broke down earlier this year, but Chloe, the daughter of TV's Richard Madeley, didn't let it affect her as she enjoyed a night off from co-parenting her 16-month-old daughter Bodhi.

The 36-year-old, whose mum is Judy Finnigan, shared pictures of her night out with friends as she hit the town ahead of the Christmas festivities. All glammed up, Chloe enjoyed drinks at a bar before taking pouty selfies and sharing them on Instagram.

It comes after James took aim at his estranged wife as he appeared on stage to broadcast the final leg of his World Cup Afterparty: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly rugby podcast tour. Joined by co-hosts Mike Tindall and Alex Payne, 38-year-old James told fans in Bath his ex was "unreasonable, overly critical and insensitive, and unfair in arguments".

He went on to joke that he was hiding his money in an offshore bank account to avoid a hefty payout when the pair eventually divorce. He used Mike, the husband of Princess Anne's daughter, Zara- as the catalyst for a not-so-subtle dig at Chloe. "Mike's personality, actually as Zara told us, is 'annoyingly honest Mike'," he began.

"He sounds like a great person, but he's not. He comes out after eight bottles of rosé and three bottles of red wine. Then he basically tells you everything that you have ever done wrong and where you have gone wrong with complete disregard for any sensitivity - or anything he has ever done wrong - and also is completely out of context. And he won't be reasoned with and he will not be argued with, right... sounds like my wife actually." He finished the gag: "Ex-wife actually. No. It's not official yet. Don't put that in the papers!"

Despite this, Chloe and James are gearing up to spend Christmas together after the pair's split earlier this year. They went their separate ways only a few weeks ago, but the two, who tied the knot in 2018, are reuniting for the festive holidays.

Chloe insists the two still co-parent "really well" and will celebrate December 25 together. Enjoying their second Christmas with daughter Bodhi, who they welcomed in August last year, the former couple also hope to continue filming their reality TV show, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair. They've also shared plans for a child-free night out soon.

"I've already booked all of the adults in our family to see The Nutcracker. We're all spending Christmas together, and James will be there," she told Heat. "We've also pitched [a second series of A Family Affair] and are waiting to hear.

"While it'll be focused primarily on me, everyone will still be involved, [my] parents and James because we co-parent very well." Chloe and rugby ace James began dating in 2014 before getting engaged back in April 2018 in romantic Paris.
