After winning I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, the King of the Jungle Sam Thompson is hoping to capitalise on his TV success by cracking the United States with girlfriend Zara McDermott, who thrilled viewers with her turn on Strictly Come Dancing.

Sam, 31, and Zara, 26, are hoping their appearances on primetime British shows will help propel them to success across the Atlantic as a new TV 'power couple' there. After a stellar 2023 on television, Made In Chelsea star Sam and Love Islander-turned-documentary maker Zara are hoping that they will prove irresistible for American TV producers and give them a 2024 to remember.

An insider told new! magazine that the pair are quickly becoming household names and that could give them leverage to make it big in America. They said: "Sam's profile has catapulted since appearing on I'm a Celeb and winning the competition was the cherry on top. Plus, Zara's Strictly stint means they are both on their way up. Their real dream though is to crack America."

The insider also added that the pair were hoping to work together on screen and that they have been in the mix for hosting ITV's daytime show, This Morning, with the source saying that they were "in talks" with bosses after Phillip Schofield and then Holly Willoughby quit the show.

This has gone as far as Sam becoming a presenter on This Morning in the past week, hosting alongside Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle, much to the delight of viewers at home. Sam took the reins on the Spin to Win segment and now there are calls from fans of the show for him to join the presenting team on a full-time basis.

Commenting on his role on the show and desire that he does more, one viewer wrote on social media: "Imagine Sam hosting This Morning. We would all love the show then because it means someone else can be as happy and hyper in the mornings and not us."

Sam recently told The Mirror about his hopes moving forward and how he has Ant and Dec as his inspiration. He said: “This is very much the pipedream because you can’t ever do it. But I look at Ant and Dec as heroes.

"If I could do even a millionth of what they do, I think I’d die a happy man. I would absolutely love to do some sort of entertainment stuff. But to be honest, I’ve got what I want. I’ve got what I need already. Anything else would be a bonus to be honest with you, and that’s what made I’m A Celebrity so special for me.”
