Neville in agreement with Jurgen Klopp over player Man Utd were advised to sign
Jarrod Bowen is one of the most highly thought of Premier League players outside of the big six and has a number of admirers from both Manchester United and Liverpool.
Red Devils legend Gary Neville has previously heaped praise on the West Ham talisman, claiming: "I always think that Bowen is a bundle of energy and he's brilliant to watch," back in December of 2020. Three years later, the England international remains in East London and is still regularly linked with a move to one of the division's top sides.
Neville can take excitement from the fact that United are one of those sides often touted with a move for Bowen, with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag urged to try and land his signature as one of his first transfers as manager. Back in May of last year, former Chelsea ace Andy Townsend insisted Bowen would walk into the United side.
He told talkSPORT : "Jarrod Bowen has been great. He’s been so good lately. I tell you what, I bet you West Ham get a bid or two for him in the summer, I bet they do.
"Would you have him at Manchester United? Like a shot you would. He can play anywhere. I’ve seen him play up the middle for West Ham, on one side. For United, he’d get in the team wherever he likes! I would play him off the right-hand side."

However, Ten Hag ignored the advice, presumably much to the frustration of Neville. United aren't the only side believed to be keeping tabs on Bowen, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp recently sparking a plethora of rumours when he confessed the Hammers forward was his favourite non-Reds player in the league.

They are good again, though in Europe, it's really impressive. Injuries issues as well.
"Playing without [Michail] Antonio, and Bowen steps up in that position. [He is] probably my favourite player besides all my players I have to say. It's great what he is doing and how he has developed."
Bowen's goal at Anfield was the only positive for Moyes' men in what was an otherwise miserable evening in the red half of Merseyside. The 27-year-old already has 12 goals across all competitions this term and can expect to be the subject of more speculation in the coming weeks as the January transfer window takes shape.
Next up for the forward is the visit of Ten Hag's United to the London Stadium on Saturday lunchtime. Those at the top of the Red Devils hierarchy are likely to be playing close attention to Bowen, though he is likely to come at quite the cost having just penned a new seven-year deal.
