This Morning's Rylan and Josie make marriage pact after love struggles

Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson stunned This Morning viewers by vowing to marry each other.

The surprising turn of events came when 35-year-old Rylan confronted 38-year-old Josie about some of her behaviour in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! camp. Josie was one of the contestants in the 2023 season of the long-running ITV reality show - and ended up placing fourth as the contestants were voted out one by one.

During her time in the jungle, Josie made a surprising confession about having a crush on Rylan - telling one of her fellow campmates that he was her ideal man, if only he weren’t gay. She waxed lyrical about her lust for the lanky former X Factor contestant - saying she loves his looks, height and personality.

Opening This Morning on Friday, Rylan paused the show to confront Josie about her words - saying he was shocked to hear her lust after him on national television. Rylan then joked that he and Josie could try to begin a relationship together.

He said: “Honestly, Jose, I was laying there like a sloth, literally looking like Gollum and I was laying there watching the show. And when you said that, my phone went bam, bam, bam! I was like, what is going on?”

Looking into Rylan’s eyes, Josie giggled: “I tell you you’re beautiful every morning when I come in.” The conversation then took a shocking turn as the pair admitted they could start a family - and vowed to get married.

Rylan teased: “Our children would be beautiful”, while Josie demanded: “Look, if we don’t meet anybody by the time we are 50, can we get married?” Rylan gleefully accepted the proposal.

This Morning viewers approved of the union suggestion - as many fans want to see Josie and Rylan host the show full time. One excited viewers wrote on X/ Twitter : “Rylan and Josie. Great together. I’d watch every morning if they were on!!”

Josie has never been married - and is single, having split from her boyfriend Terry who she was with from 2018 and with whom she shares a son named Reggie-James. While Rylan was previously married to Big Brother contestant Dan Neal.

The duo tied-the-knot in 2015, and even co-hosted This Morning occasionally together, but their marriage collapsed in 2021 - leaving Ryland bereft. He suffered a breakdown and took four months off work, later revealing his mother had to care for him as he struggled to make it through each day.

Ryan later confessed he had engaged in an affair while married to Dan. Writing about the fling in his book, Ten: The Decade That Changed Me, Rylan wrote: “I have no excuses for what I did way back then, but I had my reasons. I think for many years I had felt a bit like an imposter. That nothing I was doing was right or not quite good enough.”
