Manchester United will be getting down to their January transfer window work sooner rather than later.

The window opens in just over a week. The club hierarchy have already confirmed that the Red Devils are not expecting to be busy throughout the month, but that has not stopped a whole host of players being linked with moves to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, an array of Erik ten Hag’s stars could leave before January is out; Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek and Casemiro all among those who could be sold. Here's a look at all of the stand-out Manchester United transfer rumours over the past 24 hours...

Ten Hag to activate Amrabat clause

Sofyan Amrabat is set to commit to a new contract with Fiorentina following Man United’s decision not to sign him on a permanent deal. The Moroccan midfielder joined the Red Devils on loan in the summer with an option to sign him permanently.

According to reports, Ten Hag has already made up his mind to send him back to the Serie A club once the deal comes to an end. Previous reports claimed that Fiorentina slotted a clause into Amrabat's contract to automatically extend his deal after Man United refused to include an obligation to buy Amrabat.

Branthwaite’s £100m price tag

Manchester United have been told that it would cost around £100m to sign Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite. The Red Devils have previously been linked with the defender as they aim to recruit a new centre-back.

A deal will be very expensive though. According to The I, Branthwaite’s current club would not entertain any offers below £100m.

Tottenham have also been linked with a move for the defender. He is not the only Everton star that Man United are interested in. The Red Devils also reportedly hold an interest in midfielder Amadou Onana.

Ancelotti ‘open’ to Varane return

Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly open to Real Madrid re-signing former defender Raphael Varane as a replacement for David Alaba. The Austrian has seen his season ended by a long-term knee issue.

As a result, Real have been backed to enter the market. One option could be Varane after the Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

According to AS, Ancelotti would have no objection to the 2018 World Cup winner being drafted in as a replacement. Varane originally joined the Red Devils from the Spanish giants.
