The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs' son has been rushed to hospital.

The reality TV favourite was left worried as her baby boy Billy was "struggling to breath". Amy welcomed Billy and his twin sister Amelia in April this year. The 33-year-old was celebrating National Twin Day with a string of adorable pictures of her babies, but just hours later they were faced with a medical emergency.

She took to her social media to share a snap of baby Billy being held by fiancé Billy Delbosq as he was being seen by a doctor. Alongside the picture, Amy said: "Thank you for all your messages about baby Billy, sadly we ended up in A&E last night waiting eight hours to be seen.

"Bill's coughing got worse and was struggling to breathe. As a mum I was so worried as when he was a few minutes old when he was born he got taken away and put in the NICU unit for days as he was struggling to breathe. Last night we got told after eight hours by the doctors that he has tonsilitis.

"He is OK this morning just still worrying about his breathing and coughing. Just lots of cuddles with mummy and daddy this morning. My darling Billy." She added how she and dad Billy "100 per cent need some sleep" after the late night emergency. The mum-of-four was overjoyed and delighted when she gave birth to her twins in April, but has since recalled the challenging labour she endured.

Amy, who is also a proud mum to Polly, five and Ritchie, four, had to undergo an emergency C-section in order to welcome her twins into the world with her partner Billy Delbosq. The former TOWIE star had a birth plan but due to baby Billy suffering a prolapsed cord, things didn't go to plan. "It’s really rare. The midwife was amazing, she knew the cord was there," Amy remembered.

"Afterwards, he was in the neonatal unit, so my Bill put me in a wheelchair to go down to the other ward to feed him – he had all wires around him." She had to take it in turns with her partner to see baby Billy in the unit - admitting it was "really sad" at the time. A month later she explained how everyone is "fine" and declaring she is "very much a positive person."

Speaking to OK! magazine, Amy marveled that her twins "look completely different" and are both "really good babies." Amy and Billy began dating in 2020, and despite welcoming their twins and getting engaged in recent months, the couple aren’t rushing to walk down the aisle.

“I reckon in a couple of years. A couple of years definitely,” she said during an appearance on This Morning, as Billy suggested they would tie the knot when the twins are old enough to “walk down the aisle” with them.
