1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has shared a defiant message on social media after opening up about the death of her late husband Caleb Willingham.

The 37-year-old took to TikTok to share a video of herself singing along to Destiny's Child's hit song Survivor. In the caption, Tammy shared an emotional message as she wrote: "I'm the survivor," with a row of flexing biceps emojis.

In the clip, the TLC reality star lip synced to most of the song before saying: "I'm a survivor, I'm gonna make it. I will survive and keep on surviving." Fans rushed to the comments as they praised Tammy for how far she's come.

When Tammy first started her weight loss journey, she tipped the scales at 717lbs (51.2 stone). After spending time in a food rehabilitation centre, Tammy was able to change her life around and she's now lost around 400lbs (28.6 stone).

Sadly, thing haven't always been good for the TV personality. Back in June, it was announced her husband Caleb Willingham had died. The couple had only been married since November 2022.

Tammy recently opened up about her husband's death and revealed she found out the tragic news over text message. In a new interview, she revealed she had left the rehab facility where they'd met and returned home to continue her weight loss journey. Caleb had stayed behind.

Tammy was then informed by a mutual friend that her husband's health had taken a turn for the worse, and he was gravely ill. "I was sitting in the foetal position. I got a text message from his friend up there and the text said, 'Caleb's not doing good. They're in there working on him.' 20 minutes later he texted me back and said he was gone," Tammy told People magazine.

The heartbroken reality star said she has been "doing fairly well" since Caleb's death. She decided to keep his memory "encapsulated" in two pieces of jewellery - a ring and a necklace - made from his ashes.

"Knowing that he's with me, it's helping me pass the day. I find myself grabbing my necklace and holding it a lot. When I take off my jewellery, I feel like it's weird, separation anxiety. I start panicking," Tammy bravely admitted. She also said she watched 1000-lb Sisters to remind herself of happier times.
