Shane Nolan has spoken out after claims his marriage is over

Coleen Nolan's son, Shane appears to be making light of the claims surrounding his marriage.

In recent days, he has been surrounded by speculation that he and his wife, Miss Great Britain star Maddie Wahdan have called time to their marriage following alleged infidelity. Meanwhile, his mum, Coleen, is said to be "disappointed" by Shane's actions. Shane and Maddie married in an intimate ceremony last year, surrounded by his famous family after being together for six years.

But the singer is said to have admitted to seeing another woman while he and Maddie were an item, leaving her "heartbroken". Just days after the news emerged, Shane has broken his silence.

Taking to Instagram, he shared a series of messages on his Stories in view of his 42,900 followers. One clip shared by Shane showed a canoeist attempting to battle through intense water rapids alongside the caption: "Therapist: How's it going? Me: Just going with the flow! The flow:," before showing the clip.

A second showed a young child going down a multi-person slide, flat on their back as if to signal that they would not be attempting to make an effort. This clip was accompanied by the caption: "Me trying to make it to the end of 2023."

A source claimed to The Sun: "It's sad the relationship has come to an abrupt end so soon after they tied the knot. Shane admitted he'd cheated. Maddie can't see any way back from the betrayal, so ended their marriage. Coleen is really upset as she adored Maddie and sees her as another daughter. She is disappointed to see history repeating itself. It's a case of like father, like son. Maddie is heartbroken. She is standing firm on her decision to move on with her life. She would never be walked over."

It's claimed that Shane and Maddie are no longer living together. He is believed to be staying close to his relatives and throwing himself into his music, while Maddie is now residing in Kent. In 1999, Shane's parents, Coleen and Shane Richie decided to separate after he cheated during their marriage.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Coleen said: "I'm in a much happier place now than when I was married to Shane – I don't have to worry about what he gets up to any more." Shane told the Guardian there was 'no excuse' for his behaviour, especially as he was the host of a wedding show, Love Me Do, which promoted monogamy. "What I did to Coleen was unforgivable and I could never apologise enough," he said. "And I was pulling the wool over the public's eyes, so what do you think was going to happen?"
