UFC champion Sean Strickland goes on X-rated rant about Colby Covington

UFC champion Sean Strickland went on an expletive-fuelled rant about Colby Covington as their bitter feud escalated.

Covington, who fights Leon Edwards at UFC 296 tonight, has spoken out negatively about Strickland by criticising his stance on women and labelling him as a ‘pathetic human being’. Mirror Fighting asked Strickland about Covington’s comments at the promotion’s 2024 seasonal press conference on Friday afternoon in Las Vegas.

“Let me give you some facts about Colby,” Strickland said. “Colby is an utter piece of s***. If you know Colby on a personal level, he f***ed over everybody he knows. I take Colby as a personal insult to me because the Republicans and blue-collar workers are my people. You have a c*** like Colby coming here and taking up the banner, he doesn’t give a f*** about you."

"Him making fun of Leon’s dad is the biggest c*** move you could ever do. Leon’s mum raised a boy to be a man, to win a world title and be a good man. A real American would applaud him for that and wouldn’t tear him down for that. Colby is a fake f****ng p***** and if he was standing next to me the only thing he would do is call 911 because he’s a fake f****ng b****."

Strickland was speaking at the seasonal conference to promote his upcoming middleweight world title fight against Dricus Du Plessis, which takes place at UFC 297 on January 20. Strickland also clashed with fellow UFC champion Sean O'Malley onstage and called out the crowd for booing his opponent Chito Vera.

Covington has been subject to heavy criticism in recent days after he made a vile joke about Edwards' dad, who was murdered in a London nightclub when the Brit was just 13. "You're the stupidest guy on the UFC roster, on Saturday night I'm bringing you to a place you never want to be. I'm bringing you to the seventh layer of hell, we'll say what's up to your dad whilst we're there," Covington said at their press conference.

Edwards was furious at Covington's disgusting remark as he threw a water bottle at his rival before they were separated by security. Covington continued to mock Edwards as he said: "Little f****ng p****. He's the ultimate feeling champion, he's no ultimate fighting champion. Better get the tissues ready."
