Strictly's Ellie Leach in tears as she's supported by Corrie cousin amid final

Ellie Leach was left in tears on Friday's It Takes Two as she was supported by her family ahead of Saturday night's Strictly Come Dancing final.

During Friday's episode, former Coronation Street star Ellie, 22, appeared on the spin-off show with pro dance partner Vito Coppola, where the duo were played their best bits on the series so far, which left the actress emotional as she reached for the tissues.

Ellie was then left in more tears when she was surprised with a video montage from her family, where they shared their support for her ahead of the final. In the clip, Ellie's cousin, Brooke Vincent, made an appearance as she shared sweet words for her family member.

Soap fans will recall that Ellie played Faye Windass on Coronation Street from 2011 until earlier this year. Meanwhile, her cousin, Brooke, 31, played Sophie Webster on Corrie from 2004 until 2019. In the video, Brooke said: "Ellie is like the loveliest person. Every week when we sit down and watch her, it's like you see a new part of her come out. She's grown as a woman, she's grown in confidence, she's just glowing!" She added of the final: "Just go out there and have the best time!"

After the video, Ellie was seen wiping away tears again. The soap star was then asked how it would feel to win Strictly and take home the Glitterball trophy, she admitted: "I think, for us, we always just live in the present. We've always said, live in the present, don't think too much about the future because you'll miss the tiny details. For me, all I wanted to do was enjoy myself and I wanted to make Vito proud. I wanted to make my family proud and I wanted to make myself proud.

"I think I've done that! So for me, that feels like I've already won! But if we were to lift the Glitterball, it would be the most incredible feeling and I've just been so grateful for this whole experience. It would be amazing but I really do feel like I've already won" to which Vito sweetly replied: "You have!"
